c. Use the elements of a poem in a Poem Making Contest.

A. Activity (Crossword Puzzle)
Underline the words you can find in the Crossword Puzzle in lined to the topic
for today.
B. Discussion
Discuss the elements of a Poetry
C. Analysis
The board will be divided into 2 columns, column A is for the terms, column B is
for the definition. Connect the column A to column B.
(Think, Reflect and Act)
Using the Venn diagram, compare and contrast a poem compose with the basic
elements to a Free Verse Poem.
D. Abstraction
1. How important are the elements of a poem in poetry?
2. When writing a poem, do you use those basic elements?
3. How is your feeling when writing a poem?
E. Application (Poem making Contest)
Together with their partner the students will make a poem having the basic
elements of the poem. The poem has 3 to 4 stanzas, consisting of quatrain lines.
