In this strand, you will come up with at least 3 potential air filter designs that you could
make for this unit. Notice that the higher levels of achievement require more detail and a
deeper understanding of the design.

AIR FILTER DESIGN DESCRIPTION AIR FILTER DESIGN IDEA

VISUALIZATION

The air comes into the filter from top, then it’s filtered by an
air filter at the bottom.
The switch is on top to turn on/off easily.
At the bottom, all sides would be opened and there would be
the filter at every rectangle.
The air went into the air filter from the side, then the air
through the filter in the middle.
In the middle of the filter, there is a handle that people can pull
out the air filter frame and change the filter material easily.

The air filter heading up and fan is on the top.

The fan pushes the air inside and the air is filtered by filtering
material in the middle.
There is a handle, so it’s easy to change the filtering material.
At the bottom part, there are lots of rectangle holes around the
surface where filtered air goes out.
First, air comes in through the mouth by a fan on the neck.
Intestines are filled with filtering materials.
Air goes through the air filter and is filtered.
Filtered air goes outside through the bottom.
Airs, legs and heads are movable.

Create a 3D rendering of your chosen air filter design and then write about the key
features of the design. Be sure to highlight features that set it apart from other air filters
on the market.

CHOSEN DESIGN

Key Features:
● On the top there is a fan (Black block is
frame and gray disc is the place where
fan blades would be placed.)
● Orange cylinder is the plastic which is
the main body.
● At the bottom side, there are four holes
for the air to go outside.
● Red cylinder is a layer to place the air
filter which is t-shirt.

Positives of Chosen Design: Negatives of Chosen Design:

The fan is opened on the top, so people might
be hurt by the spinning fan blade.

In this Design Journal section, you will display your idea’s rendering TinkerCAD that
displays “requirements for the creation of the chosen solution”.

Accurate and detailed images will receive higher levels of achievement. Ways to increase
detail include: annotation, labeling, and measurements.

Air Filter layer thickness: 5cm
Air hole height (botton): 15cm
Air hole weight (botton): 5cm
Explanation: The air goes into the air purifier from the top, then it passes the air filter which is
a T-shirt. The air will be filtered through the t-shirt. Then, it goes out through the four square
holes at four sides at the bottom.
