Divorce is a decision made by a spouse in order to end their marriage. It may be caused by the absence of the feel of longing since some conflicts showed up or one of them having an affair. Some people think that divorce is the best way to solve problems in their marriage. They believe that divorce can release their burden and pain caused by the inharmonious relationship between them. On the other hand, divorce makes things more complicated with it’s long process and effects that will be felt by all family members. In this case, children are the ones who will mostly feel the effects of divorce. Some children will show their reactions such as uncontrolled anger, destructive behavior, and lost interest to continue their study and socialize with their friends. Most children will react toward divorce with attitude changes to irritable and easy to get angry without any reason. As people know, there are no children wanted to be separated from their parents since both of them are precious. Divorce forces children to be apart from one of their parent, so this makes them really upset. This feeling can switch into anger when children feel overwhelmed to control their feelings. In the end, they release their anger to the closest one such as parents, siblings, or friends. This is ironic because the innocent one can become another victim from divorcing. Many children have different kind of reactions to divorce, especially when no one can help them release their pain. This problem could lead to a destructive behavior. Destructive behavior is any behavior that can cause damage and considered against the norm. The cause of destructive behavior is when children with uncontrolled anger do not get the attention that they want from their closest person. For instance, when they need someone just to listen to their story about their parents being divorce. The most common destructive behaviors on children are abusing people with verbal or non-verbal, forcibly taking other’s things, and fighting with their parents. In addition, research has shown that children with problem of behavior tend to commit a criminal act in the next 20 years. Both reactions are related to the most crucial problems to the children. Their psychological condition is most likely to be damaged under this condition. The psychological problem leads to their unwillingness to attend school which sooner or later give impact to their grades. Their performance at school might decrease. Not only on the academic field but also on the social fields. Children with broken home tend to isolate themself from their surroundings and it makes them slowly shunned by their friends. This condition worsens the psychological condition of the child which has been damaged by divorce. In brief, divorcing can bring negative impacts to children lives in the future. The impacts have interrelations, like a chain from the most common which is unable to control emotions to the worst conditions that is rejection to attending school even stay away from their peers to socialize. In consequence, parents with troubles of marriage should consider all of these effects of divorce that may happen to their child, so they can take appropriate actions that not detrimental to their child. Finally, for couples who have been divorced it is better if both of the parents still paying attention by intensively communicate to each other or meet the children frequently for just sharing stories, so children still feel affection from parents that might be apart with them.
