4.3.1.1 Principle
The capacity for shock absorption is determined by recording over time the acceleration imparted to a last equipped with the
helmet, when dropped in guided free fall at a speed specific impact on a fixed steel anvil.
Before conditioning, the points and areas marked impact as shown in section 4.3.4.2 and Annex B (see Figure B5) and the
helmet is placed as indicated in Appendix C.
After conditioning:
4.3.1.3.1 The helmet must be located according to the requirements of the Appendix C on a last of appropriate size selected
from those listed in Section 4.3.3.2 Four. When subjected to impact test in points B, X, P and R, the hull is tilted back so that the
front edge of this, in the middle is flat displaced 25 mm; retention system is then adjusted under the chin of the mold; if the
system includes an adjustable chin strap, this is adjusted as you would in normal use.
4.3.1.3.1.1 When subjected to impact test point S on a lower face helmet with protective cover, the last with the helmet leans
forward so that the central vertical axis of the form is tilted at an angle of 65 ° • 3 ° from the vertical to the vertical longitudinal
plane of symmetry of the last with the hull upright. If the point of impact was 15 mm of the edge, the last with the helmet must
be reset so that the impact point is not less than 15 mm from the edge.
4.3.1.3.2 The last test must be placed so that the designated point on the helmet is vertically above the center of the anvil. The
plane tangential to the point of impact must be horizontal. This requirement does not apply to the impact point S.
4.3.1.3.3 Helmets placed on the market with a visor shall be tested with the visor in the closed position.
4.3.1.4 Test
The test must be completed no more than five minutes after removal of the hull of the conditioning chamber. The tests at the
point S should be executed after the tests at points B, X, P and R. The atura drop must be such that the assembly formed by
the mold and the helmet falls on the test anvil with a speed immediately before the impact on the anvil equal to:
- 7.5 (+ 0.15 / - 0,0) m / s for both anvils specified in sections 4.3.2.3.1 and
4.3.2.3.2.
4
Helmets that do not correspond to the sizes listed in paragraph 4.3.3.2 must be tested with the next smaller form that lists. Helmets size 62 or
larger shall be tested with horma "0".

4.3.1.5 Measurements
The speed of the moving mass is measured between 1 cm and 6 cm before impact, with accuracy of 1%. It is measured and
recorded acceleration versus time at the center of gravity of the form and the criterion of head injury (CLC) is calculated as
shown in section
4.3.2.5.
4.3.2.1 Description
and) a system by which the point of impact can be made to coincide with the center of the anvil.
4.3.2.2 Base
The base should be of steel or concrete or a combination of these materials, having a mass of 500 kg.
The construction should be such that there is no significant deformation of the surface under the load of the test.
No part of the base or anvil must have a resonant frequency that has the potential to affect the measurements.
4.3.2.3 Anvils
4.3.2.3.1 The flat steel anvil surface must have a circular impact with diameter 130 mm • 3 mm.
4.3.2.3.2 The curb anvil or esquinado must have two sides that form an angle of 105 ° • 5 °, each sloped 52.5 ° • 2.5 ° to the
vertical and which are in an appreciable edge with a radius of 15 mm • 0.5 mm. The height should be at least 50 mm and
length of 125 mm minimum. Orientation is 45 ° with the longitudinal vertical plane at points B, P and R, and 45 ° with the basic
plane at point X (front bottom, rear top).
The characteristics of the mobile system that supports the mold should not affect the measurement of acceleration at the
center of gravity of the mold. They must also allow any point in ACDEF area can be located vertically above the center of the
anvil.

4.4.1.1.1 Principle
Inducing rotation forces caused by the protuberances on the hull and friction against the outer surface of the hull that occur
when the last with the helmet is dropped vertically on a tilted anvil, measured in the longitudinal axis of the anvil. Peak force
and its integral with respect to time over the duration of the positive impulse are used as performance criteria.
4.4.1.1.2.1 It should select a helmet size that matches the shape indicated in paragraph 4.4.1.2.6. The horizontal axis of the
hull should be determined by placing the helmet in a mold of the type mentioned in paragraph 4.3.3, according to the
requirements of the Appendix C. The helmet must be removed after the mold and placed in a mold of the type mentioned in
Section 4.4.1.2.6. a load of 50 N is applied to the crown of the helmet in order to adjust the mold, so that contact between the
crown of the last and the inner surface of the hull. The horizontal plane of the hull is then adjusted to an angle between 90 ° • 5

ANEXO C
(Normativo)
C.2.1 Que la línea AC y la zona ACDEF estén cubiertas por la coraza (véase la Anexo B, Figura 1);
C.2.2 Que se cumplen los requisitos para el ángulo descendente mínimo y el campo de visión horizontal;

I.3.2 PROCEDIMIENTO
I.3.2.1 Calibración
* 1 • 1R
Ia • •
• • 1L
