Assessment & Eligibility Requirements

• Weighted criteria is based on a 1,000-point scale in seven categories.


• The building must attain a minimum overall score of 35% to be certified.
• Green Globes has no prerequisites.
• There are THE FOLLOWING eligibility requirements that the building must:
• Be designed for occupancy
• Have conditioned space
• Have been occupied no longer than 18 months at the time assessment
is ordered
• Be at least 400 gross square feet in size

Assessment & Eligibility Requirements

• Weighted criteria is based on a 1,000-point scale in seven categories.


• The building must attain a minimum overall score of 35% to be certified.
• Steps to Certification:
• Purchase and complete Green Globes self-evaluation.
• Request a quote and purchase your assessment
• Work with a Green Globes Assessor to complete third-party
assessments.
• Receive a final report containing your Green Globes score and rating.
• Request your Green Globes certificate and optional plaque

Overview

• A healthy interior environment leads to greater tenant comfort and

• provides a healthier, more productive space through a dual-pathway

Assessment & Eligibility Requirements

• Weighted criteria is based on a 1,000-point scale in seven categories.


• It has no individual pre-requisites
• Projects are required to achieve a minimum number of points with the
three key performance indicators of energy efficiency, materials choices
and resource consumption, and indoor environmental quality
• Additional environmental assessment areas include project management,
water, and emissions and other impacts.

certification and assessment services chosen.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION TYPES
Green Globes Professional
(GGP)
• 5+ years of experience in the design and construction phases of green
buildings in the commercial, educational, industrial or healthcare sectors
• The GGP program is entirely web-based and self-paced and has been
approved by the AIA
• Training program covers all of the Green Globes modules (NC, EB and SI)
• Background, features, and major components of Green Globes
• Organization of Green Globes criteria and point allocation
• Detailed explanation Green Globes’ assessment and certification process
Green Globes Assessor
(GGA)
• Upon certification GGAs are contracted by GBI to perform independent
3rd-party assessments for prospective Green Globes building projects
• training in:
• Green Globes assessment methodology for NC and/or EB
• Conducting on-site assessments, including review of documentation
and actual building features
• Creating detailed, written reports based upon on-site assessments

Guiding Principles Compliance

• A Brief History of GBI and Green Globes


• 2004. GBI to adapt a Canadian web-based, interactive learning tool developed
from BREAM to the needs of U.S. commercial buildings . GBI brought the
Green Globes environmental assessment and rating tool into the U.S. market.
• In 2014 and 2015 ANSI/GBI 01-2010 is being updated to keep the Green
Globes New Construction Rating System timely and consensus-based.
