Apparatus: 1 AC Power rail, 1 diode, 2 electrolyte capacitor (10µF), 10kΩ resistor, Breadboard,
1 oscilloscope, transformer, oscilloscope cables and connecting wires
3. Sketch the waveforms obtained from (2) indicating the voltage and time values.
4. Repeat procedure using set up B
Data analysis:
1. Explain the differences in you observed input and output waveforms.
2. Comment the effect of the capacitor and what role does it play in the circuit.
Experiment 8
Apparatus: 1 AC Power rail, 5 diodes, 2 electrolyte capacitor (100µF and 10 µF), 1kΩ resistor, 2.
2kΩ resistor, Breadboard, 1 oscilloscope, oscilloscope cables and connecting wires
1. Connect a 100µF capacitor across the load resistor R1as shown in figure above. The load
resistor is 10KΩ.
2. Use the oscilloscope to obtain the output waveform (from across the load)
3. Sketch the waveforms obtained clearly indicating the voltage and time values.
4. Comment on the effect of the capacitor on the observed input and output waveforms.
5. Repeat procedure with a 10 µF
