Cultural Site: Paoay Church

An example of a Cultural Site in the Philippines is the Paoay Church. It is one of the oldest
churches in the Philippines, having completed its construction in 1710, located in Paoay, Ilocos
Norte. It is declared as a National Cultural Treasure by the Philippine government in 1973 and a
UNESCO World Heritage Site under the collective group of Baroque Churches of the
Philippines in 1993.

An example of a Natural Site in the Philippines is the Puerto Princesa Underground


River (PPUR). It is one of the most ancient and iconic landmarks in the Philippines, located in
the Saint Paul Mountain Range on the western coast of the island of Palawan. It was listed as a
UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999 and voted as a New7Wonders of Nature in 2012. It also
became a Ramsar Wetland Site in 2012.
