What makes `a house` into `a home`?

“What makes `a house` into `a home`?” is a question that I have asked not just now but
sometimes earlier. I have been thinking and the appropriate answer I found is in one word:
“FAMILY”. A house is just a building you live in, if you do not have around people that you
love and love you back. People to share your life, the happy and the sad moments. People to
laugh and to cry with. People to encourage and to support you when you have failed and to
rectify when you made a mistake.
Home is a house in which you enter and feel safe, comfortable, delighted, free, happy,
and wormed by the love of a family. It is a place that meet your needs and express your
character. It is where you can be yourself and others accept this, without judging you. Here you
can rest after a tiring day lying on a sofa or in your soft and clean bed. Here you can smell from
your room the delicious food that your mom has prepared, and, in a few moments, you hear her
voice calling everyone in the house for dinner. Here the entire family stay around the table and
share events of the day. Here you enjoy the scent of a clean house and the clean clothing just out
of the washing machine, after helping your mother with the house chores. Here you receive tips
and advice for your life, and you learn to forgive after a fight with your brother or sister. Here
you learn to live.
‘A house’ can become ‘a home’ if you filled it with the memories of yourself and people
you care about. In this place you collect the precious gifts from your friends and family,
souvenirs from a trip and everything that is close by your heart. Here you create new memories
each day and discovers which are the things you like or not. You discover your talents and
abilities and you improve them. As time goes by inside the home you size your life from
childhood to youth until old age. At the end, when you look back, you can find inside the home
the story of your entire life gathered in one place.
Also, a house doesn’t have to be equipped with the finest accessories to become ‘a
home’. Even if you live in a simple house and you have by your side the one you care for, a
simple, humble place can become your home. A fancy house where you have everything that
satisfy your pleasure can be sufficiently for some time, but if you are to live alone, all this things
will not satisfy you emotionally and will not support you in the rough moments form your life.
Even if you live in a poor house and you cannot afford everything, working together with your
family to achieve what you want and need, can bring you an accomplishment you never knew.
And this will make you and your family to appreciate more everything that you have and will
bind the family.
In conclusion, ‘a house’ become ‘a home’ if you filled it with the things that are not
undefended must by physical, but rather emotional. You need this place to satisfy your need and
to feel comfortable. And you can have this when your moral is lifted by your family and the
friends around you. The building itself does not make you to feel home, because “Home is where
my family is”.
