2. Read the instructions carefully before attempting EACH question.
3. Perform the instructions for EACH question in the order given.
4. Report any problems with the computer or software to the invigilator who will, if possible,
grant you extra time to make up for time lost.

5. If problems are experienced in printing your files,you may request aid from the invigilator
or teacher. Printing is not considered part of the examination.
6. After printing, it is your responsibitity to ensure that:
(a) All side perforations (if any) are removed.
(b) Continuous paper (if used) is separated into single sheets which are then put
together in the correct order.
(c) Your candidate number appears in the upper right-hand corner of every page.
(d) Each page is correctly labelled with the name(s) of the fïles being printed.
(e) All pages being attached belong to you.
Failure to comply with these requests could be disadvantageous to you.
7. A diskette will be provided which must be submitted together with all printouts at the end
of the examination. Note that the examination wÍll be marked from the printed output and
NOT from the diskette.

1. As a council member of the Computer Society in your country, you have been invited to give a
lecture on Internet Protocol, versions 4 and 6. The content of your lecture is given in the file
named IP located on vour diskette.

(a) Retrieve the file named IP located on youÍ diskette. (lmark)


(b) Set the page to landscape orientation. (Lmark)
(c) Set all margins to 035" . (1mark)
(d) Insert footer with your candidate number to the right of the document. (2 marks)

(e) Insert apage number at the bottom centre of the page. (lmark)
(Ð Divide the page into TWO newspaper-style columns.

Place the FIRST and SECOND paragraphs in Column 1 and the remaining TWO
paragraphs in Column 2. (3 marks)

(g) Place the following information in a table made up of TWO columns and SIX rows.
Insert the table as the last paragraph of Column 2. Centre the data in the second column
of the table. Ensure that all cell borders are visible and remove ALL hvperlinks.

t An Internet s/atch group has compiled data on IP addresses issued by the Regional Internet
Registries (RIRs) for the period, 2003 -2006. These dataare given in the worksheet file named
RIR located on your diskette.

(a) Retrieve the worksheet file named RIR located on your diskette to beein in cell41.

(b) Add a column to the right with the heading "TOTRR" and a row below the last entry in
the worksheet with the text "TOTYR" in Column A. (2 marks)

(c) In the appropriate cell, insert a formula to compute the total number of IP addresses
issued by the AfriNIC for the period, 2003 - 2006 . Copy this formula to the appropriare
cells to compute the total number of IP addresses issued by EACH of the other RIRs
for the same oeriod. (2 marks)

(d) In the appropriate ceil, insert a formula to compute the total number of IP addresses
issued in 2003. Copy this formula to the appropriate cells to compute the total IP
addresses issued for EACH of the other years and the total IP addresses issued for the
FOUR vears. (2 marks)

(e) Inserta new column to the right with the heading "PCT". In the appropriate cells, insert
formulae to compute the percentage of total IP addresses issued by EACH RIR. Use
absolute addressing.

Use the formula: Percentage forAfriNIC = Total forAfriNlC / Total IP addresses issued
by all the RIR for the period, 2003 -2006.

Format the data in this column to percentages with 1 decimal place. (4 marks)

(o) Filter the data forALL RIRs that have issued more than 25,000 IP addresses in EACH
year, during 2003 - 2006. Set up the criteria range and the extraction lange in a blank

(p) Create a column chart on a separate worksheet to show the total IP addresses issued by
EACH RIR for the period, 2003 -2006. EACH column should be properly labelled to
indicate which RIR it represents or a legend should be provided. Use your registration
number as the title of the chart. Label all axes appropriately. Save the worksheet as
RIRCHART. (4 marks)

3. In order to keep track of its customers, the Internet service provider, NET WORLD has created
a database named ISP with two tables named, SERVICE and cusroMER.

(a) Retrieve the database named ISP located on vour diskette. (lmark)
(b) In the SERVICE table, insert a new field named "Cost" to store the monthly cost (US$)
for Internet service. (lmark)
(c) Use the following table to enter data in the Cost field:

25 DU
50 DSLR
250 DSLC
100 WL (lmark)
(d) In the CUSTOMER table, insert a new field named 'rOM" to store data on whether or
not the customer requires onsite maintenance. This field will have either a yes (Y) or no
(N) value. (lmark)
(e) Dialup customets ONLY, do not require onsite maintenance. Insert the appropriate
data in the OM field. (lmark)
(Ð The customer with CID = C300,located in Sector 6 has changed his SID from DU to
DSLR and now requires onsite maintenance. Make the relevant update to the customer
table to reflect these changes. ( 1 mark )

(e) Sort the records in the customer table in ascending order by location and then in
ascending order by service date. (3 marks)

(h) Using the SERVICE table, create a calculated field named VAT, Use VAI = Cost * 0.10.
Save the query as VATQRY. (2 marks)

(Ð FindALL customers who took out an Internet account in 2006 and who required onsite
maintenance (OM). Display the Name, Service Date and SID for EACH customer.
Save the query as 2006QRY. (4 marks)

0) Join the TWO tables and find ALL customers who have residential DSL service.
Display the Name, TVpe, Location and cost fields. save the query as DSLeRy.

(k) Use queries to find the following:

(Ð The minimum cost of an Internet service. Save the queïy as MINeRy.

(1) Copy the results of the queries in parts (h) - (k) and paste them in a word processing
document. Name this document QRYHK. (2 marks)

(m) Make a report to show the Type, Location, Bandwidth and Name fields. Group the
report byType and sort on the Location. The report should have the title "INTERNET
SERVICE". Insert your candidate number as the footer of the report. Save the report as
NETRPT. (6 marks)
