NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS OF THE ALL INDIA BAR EXAMINATION1

There is not any restriction or the limit to the try or to appear to the Bar Examination. If
an lawyer does not pass the exam immediately then he can again appear for it and get
the certificates of advocate once he/she passes the exam.

ADVOCATES CAN PRACTICE IN ALL STATES2

Advocates registered inside the roll of state bar council of India can do practice everywhere
within the country. According to phase/section 30 of the Advocates Act, an lawyer is eligible
to exercise in all of the territories included on this act (entire India), he can practice in all
courts together even in the with the Supreme Court of India, he can exercise before any
tribunal, authority and any man or woman who is approved to take proof of the case.

But to exercise in any state apart from the registered state the advocate desires to sign in
himself within the respective Bar Council of the state wherein he desires to exercise/practice.
Without registering with the State Bar Council the he cannot exercise. He wishes to finish the
registration method and pay the registration prices. An advocate can be a member of multiple
State Bar Councils but he has to pay the yearly charges of all the State Bar Council to
maintain his membership in those councils.

FOREIGN DEGREE:

The rule makes exceptions for nationals of a foreign country, who may be admitted as
advocates on the State roil as long as reciprocity on mutual recognition based on due
qualifications is maintained between India and the other country. At present the entry of
foreign advocates and their right to practice is an important issue of debate. By virtue of the
WTO obligations under GATS the Bar Councils are under severe pressure to allow foreign
lawyers to practice.
