CONSIDERATION OFLAW DEGREE OBTAINED IN UNIVERSITY'S SITUATED

IN FOREIGN1

If a person studied in foreign and got the degree of law from the foreign universities or a
person who is from India and having dual citizenship in India and other foreign country., and
the same person having more than 21 years of age is eligible to register or enroll under
advocates act if he fulfills the. Conditions:

1. If the person getting the law degree through the regular course of education that
may be for three years after completion of your graduation or it can be attained
through 5 yrs course of education after completion of 10 +2 .
2. The student from where he is getting the degree that university should be
considered and recognized by the bar council of India and he should and need to
pass and clear the exam conducted by the council called all India bar examination.

Here all foreign universities are not recognised by the bar council of India, for recognition the
foreign universities need to apply for BCI for recognition. The application must contain some
requirements:

1) Every information like History and details need to be in application.

2) The university's broacher and also the university's establishers and the courses providing
by the universities.

3) If any information the bar council of India asks then the university must provide that
information and then the bar council of India may go for inspection of foreign university if
needed.

CONDITIONS AND RULES BY THE BCI FOR THE LAWYERS WHO ARE FROM
FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES FOR THEIR REGISTRATION IN INDIA:2

1. The lawyers from foreign and law firms from foreign can practice the foreign
nation law and they can set up an office in India . All this can be done only
registration with the bar council of India .
2. The foreign lawyers registration term is only valid for period of five years.
3. No foreign lawyer can can attend the court in any situation even though they have
firm situated in India or they are practicing in India
4. The foreign lawyers are only allowed how to participate in arbitration held in the
India but they cannot enter into the courts
5. The foreign lawyers can enter into partnership with the Indian lawyers and they
can maintain a friendly relationship with the Indian lawyers
