TOTALS 7 3

1. What positive behaviors could you identify in the way you communicate?
a. I realize that I have a clear and efficient communication with others, as I
normally approach them with respect, clear objectives and willingness to listen
to what they have to say. I also realize the need to schedule time for a sensitive
talk and engage in a respectful and peaceful dialogue to try and solve conflicts.
2. What behaviors of yours do you feel need improving?
a. I could improve my feedback skills, set time to evaluate my own performance
and also the performance of my coworkers or partners.
3. How do you think your way of communicating affects people and results?
a. I believe I affect people in both a positive and negative way. I may be exhorting
a high pressure on others to do things right or on time by my way of
communicating and relating to them. On the other hand, I also think that most
of the time I am supportive, offer good reflections and listen carefully to give the
best advice I possibly can.
4. What factors do you think influence the way you communicate with others?
a. My mood, my state of mind, how my day Is going, if I’m worried about
something or if there is something that I need.
5. What conclusions can you make based on these observations that will allow you to
improve your communication as a leader, both in the work environment and in your
personal environment?
a. I would like to take a moment before an engagement to deep breath, calm my
mind and establish possible goals for the engagement. I also have to be a little
bit more empathic with my peers, as sometimes I’m very harsh on them. I also
have problem sometimes with my way of communicating, as I’m very straight
forward and that hurts people feelings sometimes.

My chosen behavior to improve is the empathic listening when in situation of conflict.

Some of the actions that I would like to take are the following:

1. Take a moment to clear my mind before entering an engagement.

2. Listen before speaking. Try to understand the others POV instead of listening to
reply.
3. Make more questions. The more questions I ask the better understanding I
have of the situation and it also makes the other person feel that I am
interested.
