Rationale:

The Local Government Code of 1991 (RA 7160) mandates the Local Sanggunian as
legislative body to conduct regular session once a week. The session is the avenue
where ordinances, resolutions and other legislative measures, among others are
introduced, referred, deliberated/discussed and enacted.

The local government code also provides as a rule, the session shall be open to the
public. Thus, every session it is expected that different individual and stakeholders
are present whether invited or not who can sit freely, listen and witness the
proceedings of the Sangguniang Bayan as it fulfills and conduct their public
functions which will promote the general welfare of the whole Municipality and its
constituents.

Objectives:

The objectives of the activity are as follows:


1. To serve snacks and refreshment to the members of the Sanggunian Bayan
who are key players during the session;
2. To serve snacks and refreshment for the public and stakeholders present
during the session;
3. To serve snacks and refreshment for the invited guests and staffs whose
presence are important during the session.

Expected Output:

At the end of the activity, the Sangguniang Bayan is expected to dispose all the
matters calendared for the session, the committee reports reported and adopted,
deliberated matters for second reading and urgent matters and approved
Memorandum of Agreements, passed resolutions and enact ordinances, as the case
maybe.

Further, the stakeholders and other visitors are able to understand and appreciate
the how the legislative branch of the government functions.
