China has spent three decades supplying all citizens with indoor plumbing, the past decade
building world class public facilities. Indian upper classes have toilets in their houses, and
now apparently in their vans. Poor women in India dream that Mr. Right will own a toilet.

The next SUV fashion? In India, an SUV sold with a sideways-installed toilet instead of a 3rd
row of seats, to avoid trips to public bathrooms during long trips.

Only one country in the history of the world raised a billion people out of poverty. India's
poor deserve to learn what nation did that and how. India's colonial elites fear that
disclosure.

India and Pakistan have been slaughtering each other on their disputed border for decades,
both using U.S. weapons. Western media takes no interest until there's a rumble in the
mountains with a few Chinese soldiers.

I'm an old dude that reads constantly and attempts to listen closely. I can honestly say I
have NEVER heard China called "a bully in thrall to a dangerously nationalistic public". Just
googled that phrase: only you are cited David! Are you hearing that often? Taking your
meds?

China is often called a bully in thrall to a dangerously nationalist public. Actually China is
more controlling, cautious and cynical than that - as proved by the striking lack of
nationalist demands to know about the deadly India border clash. My Chaguan
