I. INTRODUCTION

The Jhay’s kakanin located at 2nd floor, Bansalan Public Mall, Bansalan Davao del Sur. Owned

and managed by John Lloyd J. Garduque, lived at Purok 7, Dolo, Bansalan Davao del Sur. The

nature of my business is kakanin. Kakanin is a well-known Filipino dessert usually serves during

special occasions like birthdays, fiesta, anniversary and Christmas. Occasion will not be special

without a kakanin in one’s dining table. Even in abroad, kakanin is also known and popular.

Many OFW’s are still missing to eat out local kakanin. That’s why many people are thinking to

start the kakanin business to meet the demand nowadays. Kakanin cannot only be found in

streets, but also in food stalls of big malls, bus stations and pasalubong centers. Because of its

popularity among Filipinos here, many household mom entrepreneurs saw the need for

commercializing it into a kakanin business, knowing that this type of industry can be easily

manufactured at home. From traditional ways of cooking and selling, native kakanin delicacies

have now reached major mall food stalls around the country. And, from unsophisticated plastic

wrappers, kakanin are now gracefully stuffed in polystyrene foam (commonly known as

“Styrofoam”) with printed labels on them. No doubt, these generated income opportunities to

many Filipinos.

II. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Across the areas of Bansalan Davao del Sur, the kakanin business has an explosion of growth

year by year. But despite that, I decided to put up “Jhay’s Kakanin” for all occasions especially

for Birthdays, Fiesta, Anniversary and Christmas. This are determined enough to put this

business and believes that theirs will be on top.

To open and operate a successful kakanin business, you must differentiate your products and

serve from other kakanin firms to ensure that your kakanin company become fresh and unique in

the community.

Jhay’s kakanin main goal is to satisfy their customer with their products without hurting their

pockets. They serve creative, tasty and at the same time healthy kakanin rich in nutrients. No

additives added safe for customers with dietary limitations. Its attractive features are surely

appealing specially to customers who loved eating kakanin delicacies. They also offer free

deliveries for large numbers of orders, reservations, and inquires within their store or in their

online page.

Another thing you should know about Jhay’s kakanin is that they post their latest hit of kakanin

to be easy for their prospect customers to see and for other online customers to check out on their

page. They also add new kind of kakanin every month for more and better options. They saw

strategy to cause an increase of sales.

infrastructures are secured for the employees and trusted for deliveries. Service; innovative and

responsible to meet the needs and has space for enhancement and well discipline in time

awareness. Work; has performing workforce with the use of modern tools.

They believe that success is through serving with a heart.

Importantly the company complies the requirement such as the DOH Certificate, legal

site permit for the establishment of the Jhay’s kakanin, as well as to the other standards regarding

environmental laws, like proper disposal of waste in the establishment and obeying local

government implemented regulations. The DO’s and DON’T to avoid violations and fines.

Finally this business possessed financial flexibility, it had the ability to react to unexpected

expenses and investment opportunities, that could finance the operations.

The JHAY’S KAKANIN aims to offer quality Puto Cake product. At a competitive price to meet

the demands of the customers, from the middle –to higher –income local market areas, residents

and schools in bansalan.

 Provide kakanin foods that affordable price and give impact t to the people;

 To increase the demand in native delicacies;

 To introduce an affordable but more innovative and creative native delicacies;

 To establish successful shop and be recognized in the industry; and

 To practice an excellent and enthusiastic business culture.

To succeed in this business we must:

 Create a unique, innovative, that will differentiate us from the rest of the competition.
 Control costs at all times, in all areas and implement a conservative approach to growth

policy. Although, we provide more than enough fund to open more than one outlet, we want

to be on the safe side of the business.

 Sell the products that are of the highest quality, as well as keeping the customers happy with

of our product.

 Provide 100% satisfaction to our customers and maintaining the level of excellent services

among other competitors.

 Encourage the two most important values in food business: brand and image, as these two

ingredients are a couple of main drivers in marketing communications..

 Promote good values of company culture and business philosophy.


III. INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

Conducting a competitive analysis is important part of any savvy business

strategy because without knowing how you rank your competitors, it is impossible to know

which competitors are your greatest threats, how to beat them or where you should focus

your efforts. If you conduct a competitive analysis and use it to develop your strategy you

will leap ahead of at least haft of your competitors. According to study by smart insights,

50% of companies doing digital marketing don’t have a defined strategy. Because success is

often determined by a company ability to respond to changing market conditions

understanding your competitive edge. If you don’t do completive analysis, or don’t do it

often enough, you risks falling behind the competitions.

The advantage of Jhay’s kakanin is it will have a good quality, unique, that have a

classic taste with the cheaper price. Jhay’s kakanin offers a free delivery for special

occasions with 2% discount. It depends on how many their orders.


IV. DESCRIPTION OF VENTURES

Jhay’s kakanin will be establish in the local market specifically in Bansalan,

Davao del Sur. To be stared this coming 2019 expected in the month of June. To gain money

for helping the society as pay back is the number one objective on their upcoming business,

and will make projects for the good of the community.

The business ventures is still in its seed stage since both of the founders are

cobeginners in having business, but they’re aiming on stepping one by one through becoming

on top soon in the industry of kakanin business.

Kakanin is a very well-known product in the market, but still they look this as

their product since they will develop different definitions on their own kakanin. In unique

quality than offer competing kakanin on sale they’re confident to show the public a month

watering kind of kakanin in a healthy made on.

The customers will be satisfied through its different taste from the other

competing kakanin and the service at gives through orders and reserves in special occasions.

No time delay and accepts personalized designs and flavor for the customers suggestions.
MARKET ANALYSIS AND THE COMPETITION

My target market will be:

 Children (8 years old – 12 years old)

 Teenagers

 Sari-sari stores (bansalan areas)

 Students (bansalan areas)

My venture will be a small business enterprise that produces sufficient production to

meet the demands of the customers for a particular time frame. This production will also meet

the purchase volume of the clients. I will assure that in every production, an inventory will be

conducted to monitor the remaining ingredients and the products itself.


V. PRODUCTION PLAN

Jhay’s kakanin wants to expess their passion, creativeness and dedication to their

chosen craft through their kakanin, that’s why I’m surely become a famous kakanin shop in

Basalan because of its unique features from it and everything will totally become amazing.

They will make sure that they can give their 100% best in giving quality products

for their customers’ satisfaction. They want to build relationships between them and their

clients therefor they keep their trust to them and continue providing their desire on a price of

kakanin.

Puto Cheese Cake Procedure

Step 1. In first mixing bowl, sift


thecake flour, baking powder and 1 cup
of white sugar.

Step 2. Add water and mix it well and


set aside.

Step 3. In second mixing bowl, separate


the egg whites and egg yolks.

Step 4.After separation, beat the egg


whites and slowly add the 1 cup of
white sugar.

Step 5. Beat until it soft pick.

Step 6.Combined the batter and


meringue and apply the cut and fold
technique.

Step 7. Prepare your puto cake molder.

Step 8.Steam it in 5 to 10 minutes.

VI. MARKETING PLAN


Jhay’s kakanin wants to achieve consistency of sales of attain more income for

developing the firm, and for the demands to increase as time pass for the expansion and to

build branches in the locality or even in Mindanao. The business proponents are planning to

invest profits in the bank, in order for the capital to grow and can support to the managing

teams priorities which is to earn good financial returned for its stakeholders and

compensation for the employees.

Moreover the company will execute strategies using social media like Facebook,

wherein most people are in and easier to reach now a days, for as technology look over the

responsibilities in the world of business, jhay’s kakanin will never be left out of the trend.

In addition advertising in social media, also can contribute a large help in promoting

Jhay’s kakanin in the people.

VII. ORGANIZATIONAL PLAN

For kakanin production, Jhay's kakanin uses suitable equipment and machinery in

order to produce accurate and just products. For better results there are ready procedures for

them to follow, and another thing is they have daily check up and sanitizing for all machinery

and equipment before using them to avoid damages and to keep the kakanin safe and clean.

They want everything to be secured in case of emergency thus their establishment

create exists plan’s already, in preparedness also they already make sure that the place is

secure for business operation and the structure of the establishment is strong enough and

made from the toughest materials so there nothing to worry about in the coming times.

Also Jhay's kakanin get its ingredient supplies from trusted suppliers in the

bansalan, that gives fresh and quality stocks needed to produce variety of kakanin to get

competitive advantage.
VIII. ASSESSMENT OF RISKS

In running a business there’s really a lot of challenges along the way that be given

a lot of attention and of concern, and must be resolved before it gone worst might cause more

complication in the near future.

One of the problem that’s been seen in the firm is uncertain sales, they are not

able to know the numbers of possible consumers in a days, week, and months to come that is

why they think sales may not be that much. But they see pre-taste as a solution, for the

product to be introduced to the consumers.

Next is the lack of experience, it’s their first time in kakanin business so there

might be a long time in adjusting them selves in this kind of environment, despite that they

never think that it could fall off their business, instead they attend to business seminar,

workshops and even ask motivations and advice from experts to sharpen their management

skills to be applied to their own business.

Lastly lack of financial resources, it’s their first time in kakanin business so there

IX. FINANCIAL PLAN

To start the business, they need capital to start our incoming business. We know that they

can’t build a business if we don’t have capital, I put all my saving to make it my capital. By that

money I can manage now my business.

Time flows, our company become bigger and bigger until they earned much bigger

amount that before and they already paid my own savings and also because with the help of

some willing investors they renovate our business into much expensive one.

First year of this business they gained PHP 130,320.00, second year of it they gained

PHP 1,563,840.00 and five year later they gained PHP 2,702,315,520.00. It is not easy to budget

the money properly but they did their best so that they can manage their plans surely.
