Siemens VFD Setup

Verify this information prior to the VFD setup:

• Verify the start command wiring is correct (24VDC to terminal 5 on the drive, and
0V from CIP to terminal 28).

• Gather the motor information:

In order to access the parameter files press P, then use the Up and Down arrow to reach
the desired parameter.

P0003= Select 3 for Expert

P0010= Select 1 for quick commissioning
P0100= Select 1 for Nema 60Hz
P0205= Select 0 Constant Torque
P0300= Select 1 Asynchronous Motor
P0304= Enter Rated Motor Voltage (480)
P0305= Enter Motor Rated Current (16.8)
P0307= Enter Motor Rated Power (15hp)
P0308= Enter rated CosPhi -- Power Factor (0)
P0309= Enter Rated Motor Efficiency (90.2%)
P0310= Enter Rated Motor Frequency (60Hz)
P0311= Enter Motor Rated Speed (3600 RPM)
P0500= Enter 1--Technological Application (Pumps & Fan)
P1000= Select 3 Frequency set point Source (Fixed)
P1080= Set Min. Frequency (60Hx)
P1082= Set Max. Frequency (60Hz)
P1300= Select 0 Control Mode V/F with linear Charact.

P1910= Select 1 Motor data Identification

Upon setting P1910 (Motor data ID) to 1, an A0541 (Motor Data ID active) starts
alternating on the display.
When this happens, go to P3900

P3900= Select 1 Motor calculation and reset all non quick commissioning parameters.
Once the display starts alternating between P3900 and A0541, start the blower by
toggling the blower switch to hand.
The VFD blower will do a motor test for 5-10 Min, and when the A0541 goes away that
is the indication that the quick commissioning has finished.

After the quick commissioning is completed, we must assign the terminal Digital outputs:
To change this parameter, we must set P0003 to 1 (expert).

Digital output 1: Parameter P0731[x] = 52.3 Drive fault

Digital output 3: Parameter P0733[x] = 52.2 Drive Running

After we have verified the configuration and the functionality of the drive, we must set
P0003 back to 1.
