Scheme of work

Chapter 1: Principles of electrical science Academic year: _____________________________________________

Broad aim: this chapter is designed to give the student the basic principles of Number of sessions: 30
electrical science. The knowledge gained in this chapter can be applied to Duration of session: 3 hours
designing wiring systems, inspection and testing, and installing electrical
Guided learning hours: 89
systems. This scheme of work is a guide only and specific tailoring will be
required to match the individual learning needs of a group. Some theory Credits: 10
sessions can be turned into practicals, depending on the time and resources
available. Assessment should be formative with the inclusion of phase tests to
check retention and the level of understanding before the final summative
online multiple-choice exam.
