Artifact Description: This artifact is a 2D drawing of a Truss Bridge, which can be designed

in any simple drawing app, using vertical lines, to trace symmetrical shapes. The purpose of

this artifact is to demonstrate our previous abilities and knowledge in the use of technology

and the design of didactic material that can be used during a class.

My experience trying to design and draw a truss bridge was a little bit stressful given that this

was the first time that I use a drawing tool. In the beginning, when I read the instructions for

the assignment and see different images and pictures of bridges on google I thought it would

be easier to draw a bridge, especially because the drawing should be in 2D. But it was not

what I was expected, it took my about 3 hours to get to the final product, also I had to start

over and over again multiple times because the app that I was using did not allow me to

delete or raise just a single part of the drawing. Besides, some of the error I made and which

resulted in a complete mess was that I just started drawing a bridge according to the image

that I downloaded from the internet, and I soon realized that my work was a disaster many

lines in my drawing was crooked. I made multiples drafts before getting to the final product

Given that manipulating the mouse to make all the lines behind it intersect at a fixed point

and that at the same time they are symmetrical was a great challenge, which I did not expect.

Lastly, I learned from this project that it is very important to analyze very carefully the image

you are trying to draw and all the time measure every single trace you do, because if the

traces are not the same measure or differ a little bit your design loss the symmetry.
National Education Standards: This kind of activity promote the development and

improvement of motor skills and abilities in students that will serve them in their whole

scholarly life. Also, while the student is searching for examples of images and information

about the topic they will improve their thinking and creative skills, which will give them a

great advantage into their future career, given that the society is in constant change be

creative and have different perspectives are great components to any career or future

employment. Lastly, while students are using the computer to access the drawing app they

will learn about the different functions, and futures of the computer, that latter they may

apply when they are doing homework, projects, or any assignment related to school.

How do you see the project fitting into different areas of the school curriculum? This project

could be implemented into a computation class, to teach students how to use the drawing tool

available to design their own bright that latter they could print and Coloring and

personalizing with the skills and abilities they think can help them build their bridge to

accommodate all of their professional and personal goals.

What curricular areas of learning styles would be addressed if students were building these

bridges as 3-dimensional models? If students were asked to design this bridge in a

3-dimensional model they probably will development their planing, creating and executing

skills given that they should deeply analyze the structure of the model they plan to recreate

and study the tool count with to draw, always considering the scale in which the new design

will have. Also, during the executing process students will learn that the angle from which a

line is drawn matter given that depend the angle and position of lines will be how the bridge
would look like. Lastly, they should create a draft to test the possible hypothesis of the

potential possibility of fail or not to making a imagine in a 3-dimensional model.

How can drawing and model building by used in your classroom even if it is not a bridge you

are building? What else can be designed instead, but still cover the concepts of learning how

to manipulate drawing objects on screen? Instead of a bridge students could design a house,

or castle using diagonals lines and other shapes to make their creations symmetry and be able

to test the different futures and tools of a drawing app related to education. Besides we can

teach students to design different formats of academic organizers that could be represented by

any subject like a tree or an apple etc. All to teach students how to use a technological

drawing application to design something using different shapes and traces, that latter students

must use as an organizer or notes carts.
