PASTOR MUJAMBERE

Pastor Mujambere Denis a born of Mityana and a straight forward man married to
Jessica with 3 children was a reputable administrator at UCC for 8 years from 2008- Jan
2016. His predecessor is Pastor Ssemakula Andrew, the current shepherd of UCC
Mukono branch.
He joined UCC while at Makerere University in 2001. His coming to Kampala was a scary
decision he made so he hoped to join a church to maneuver around with Kampala
hearsays hence joining Full Gospel Church where he fellowshipped for three weeks.
However, his spirit was compelled to change church as he seemed to be out of place.
One Sunday morning upon hearing music from the valley full of life, he was propelled to
move from the second floor of his hostel, followed mincingly the great melodies that
came from the soothing choir voices, thereby joining UCC a decision he never relents of.
He became an active church member, trained as a minister and got involved in several
church activities right from 2001 which led him into becoming an administrator seven
years down the road.
Upon completing his studies at Makerere University in September 2004, he was
convicted to stay in Kampala but prior to this, he got so much convinced to the extent of
saying goodbye to his home people in 2003. Surprisingly, he was appointed the
administrator of MISH hostel in 2005, a residence he used to stay in during his campus
days. Luck arose when the administrator of UCC that time wanted to resign leading to a
call-in search for a new administrator. Many potential candidates were picked on who
would turn down the offer. Bishop Ssenfuma Stephen called him upon hearing one of
the elders highlight the ability of this young active church member and asked him to be
the new church administrator, a responsibility he looked at as a big challenge since he
was not a socialite. Altogether, his most relieving factors were the directions from God
which turned out to be his point of confidence to lead on; a narration he re-echoes back
to 2003 when the Lord called him to be in an influential position though it seemed like a
day dream by then.
Some of the achievements he embraced during his term as an administrator were
participating in what the Lord was working out with the entire team which he glorifies
the Lord for. UCC as a place seemed remote, had no accounting system, recordkeeping
being fairly done but good enough accountability measures were re-enforced as well as
proper record keeping, systems of accountability, budgeting, planning, criteria of
employment and staff payments. By then, ministry was one sided that is only the
spiritual part however, they began on the process of perfecting things to make it a
holistic ministry. They began progressing holistically to touch people’s lives upon
partnership with Compassion International, a project that made the community feel the
presence of a church in the area, a skilling project for women was also started whose
goal was to enable community and church women acquire different skills so they could
earn a living for themselves. Due to the rising need of a school initiated with the
partnership of Compassion International, a primary school was set up, a pregnant
women project started too during this period.

They as well started on building a secondary school which project came to a halt as
there arose a need of having a radio due to constraints from radio stations in advertising
the Innerman conferences. Challenges are always a blessing in disguise; this is so
because radio stations then could tarry to air out the Innerman conference adverts
which was a spark off for Innerman Radio 107.5 FM. Land for the church was purchased
commonly known as Innerman village, another great achievement they mounted to and
conference tents were bought too during his regime as a result of faith and teamwork.
Money, an ever-present challenge was the biggest shortcoming faced during his regime,
less capacity to perform what they hoped to work out as a way of helping the big needy
community where the church is located which was somehow overcame. He also
personally faced a number of challenges at first, namely; failure to be understood by
many ministers probably due to his communicative character, motives and being a fast
person, the thought of everyone having an equal stake in giving commands could also
bring inner conflict to him.
In the next 25 years, Pastor Mujambere Denis wishes to see Innerman ministry sprout
out into a professional and spiritual ministry while balancing the two opposite spheres,
setting up a new auditorium or cathedral with trendy structures to meet church space
requirements such as offices harboring several services and activities. He says, “the
ministry should have a number of secondary schools and a university”, and also points
out the need for the TV ministry since we are in a visual generation. As well, he
emphasizes proper facilitation of ministers to be able to do ministry well.
