So, these are the important dates of the CG PET exam 2020.
Now, we will see the eligibility criteria for the CG PET exam 2020 so that candidates get an
idea of whether they are eligible for the exam or not.
Qualifying examination to enter the CG PET exam 2020
1. Aspiring candidates must have passed the class 12 exam with subjects Maths, Physics
that will be considered as compulsory subjects and other subjects like
Chemistry/Biology and other subjects as optional subjects.
2. For B.Tech Biotechnology aspiring candidates must have studied Biology instead of
Math in their class 12th exam.
Passing percentage
1. Aspiring candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in their class 12 th
exam or any other equivalent exam.
2. Reserved candidates are required to score only 40% marks in their class 12th exam.
1. Aspiring candidates should not be more than 30 years of age as on 1 July 2020.
1. All the aspiring candidates need to have the residency proof with them.
2. The domicile certificate is a mandatory document that is needed during the counseling
and admission process.
Now, we will see the fees that are required during application form and the application fee is
different for different categories of students.
The mode of the examination will be offline i.e. Pen and Paper mode.
The question paper will consist of multiple-choice questions with four answers to each
question.
Total no of questions will be 150 in number and each question will have one mark which
gives a total of 150 marks question paper.
There will be three sections in the question paper and it consists of - Physics, Chemistry, and
Mathematics. Each section will have 50 questions.
There is no negative mark for any incorrect answer that the aspiring candidates give.
Now, we will look into the syllabus of the exam so that we can prepare accordingly for the
exam. The syllabus of the exam consists of only three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and
Mathematics. Various important topics are considered important.
The most important topics are - Physics and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion,
Work, Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Properties of Solids and Liquids,
Thermodynamics, Kinetic Theory of Gases, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, Current
Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and
Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation,
Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, Communication Systems.
The most important topics are:- Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties,
General Principles and Process of Isolation of Metals, Hydrogen, Purification and
Characterization of Organic Compounds, Some Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry,
Hydrocarbons, Organic Compounds Containing Halogens, Organic Compounds Containing
Oxygen (Alcohols, Phenols & Ethers), Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen,
Polymers, Biomolecules, Chemistry in Everyday Life.
The most important topics are:- Sets, Relations and Functions, Complex numbers and
Quadratic Equations, Matrices and Determinants, Permutations and Combinations,
Mathematical Induction, Binomial Theorem, and its Simple Applications, Sequences and
Series, Limit, Continuity and Differentiability, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations,
Coordinate Geometry. So, aspiring candidates have to prepare these topics in detail.
