10th grade

WARM UP: Students go to the computers room and sit considering their number in the list.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will tell the students that the objective of this class is to study in an
interactive way vocabulary related to the topics studied during first and second terms.

PRESENTATION: The teacher explains the way the webpage works so that students can complete
the activities.

and type the words as they listen to them. The aim is to activate previous knowledge and practice
the right spelling of words related to social studies field.

WRAP-UP: The students write a synthesis about the topics covered during the term as well as their
performance.

8th grade

1ST HOUR:

WARM UP: The students talk about what their plans for vacations are.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will tell the students that the objective of this class is to understand
the different parts of speech that make up a language and how they are transformed.

PRESENTATION: The teacher show a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T71La8gQZQ for


students to make notes while listening to it. After watching the video they share what they
understood and finally the teacher ask them how can they tell apart a verb from an adjective or an
adverb from an adjective.

TASK: The teacher will give a post-it to each student for them to write a word, they must be
conscious about the category(noun, verb, adjective or adverb). Then, one student will get the
post-its to be randomly assigned later. The teacher will ask the students to classify the words into
the corresponding part of speech group; only 10 seconds will be given to paste them on the board
per category. Then in groups of 4 members, they will choose randomly 4 words, one per category,
and transform them into a different category, they must write the words down in their notebooks
and finally use the new words in sentences.

WRAP-UP: Each group will choose a speaker to share their work.

2ND HOUR

WARM UP: The teacher will ask the students what they know about the use of prefixes and
suffixes.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will tell the students that the objective of this class is to learn how to
face KEY WORD FORMATION - FCE exercises (USE OF ENGLISH - PART 3) and understand the role
prefixes and suffixes in general have when solving this type of task.

PRESENTATION: The teacher will show the students a PPT explaining what a KEY WORD
FORMATION - FCE (USE OF ENGLISH - PART 3) exercise is and what is important for them to take
into account for answering it.

TASK: The students will answer some KEY WORD FORMATION - FCE (USE OF ENGLISH - PART 3)
exercises in their notebook.

WRAP-UP: The teacher will check up the activity, and will ask the students which were their
strenghts and weaknesses while solving the exercises.

1ST HOUR

WARM-UP: game “hot potato”, the students are given a ball which is the hot potato. The student
with the “potato” needs to say a verb before passing the “potato” to another student, the verbs
cannot be repeated. If a student keeps the “potato” more than 10 seconds, he will be subject to
punishment.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher explains the objective of the lesson which is to study the different
verb forms and remember vocabulary.

PRESENTATION: The teacher elicits the importance of knowing the different verb forms as well as
understanding their uses when in context.

TASK: The class is divided into two teams. The teacher will write the teams on the board and draw
three columns under each team, labeling the columns as “base,” ” past” and “past participle”.
Each team will choose one player to go to the front of the class to act out (without speaking) a
verb given by the teacher. When a member of the team guesses the word, they should go to the
board and write the three forms of the verb. If the group doesn’t guess, the other group can steal
their point by guessing. All the participants are writing the verbs in their notebooks while in the
activity, and making sentences.

WRAP-UP: At the end of the game, the teacher will give a point for every correctly spelled and
formed verb. The team that has the largest amount of points at the end is the winner.

2ND HOUR

and practice of verb forms.

PRESENTATION: The teacher will elicit on the board some examples of the uses of the different
verb forms for the students to review the sentences they wrote the previous lesson.

TASK: (In couples) Considering the list of verbs from the activity performed the previous class the
students will write paragraphs based on two situations given by the teacher:

a) Write the agenda a famous singer has completed. (Use the present perfect tense).

b) Write an anecdote using both the past simple and past perfect tenses.

WRAP-UP: The students will write a short SYNTHESIS summarizing the two topics studied during
the week.

TUTORING SESSION: The students will create sentences by using the different verb forms with the
help of the teacher.
