Physical Writing Prompt LP

Set Induction (5 minutes)


 Teacher will ask the students on how many subjects that they usually have per day
 Teacher will ask the students these two questions:
-Do you bring many books to school today? (yes/no)
-Do you like carrying your school bag to school everyday? (yes/no)
 Teacher will show a set of pictures of students carrying school bags vs a set of
pictures of students who do not carry school bags
 Teacher will ask one student on which situation do they personally prefer and to
briefly explain to the students on why is that so
 Teacher will briefly mention the topic of the lesson for today

Pre-writing (15 minutes)


 Teacher will mention to the students that they are going to write an article essay draft
 Teacher will mention the learning objectives of the lesson for today
 Teacher will recap the techniques of writing an article essay
 Teacher will distribute model article essays to the students
 Teacher will ask the students to highlight or underline the keywords/linkers used in
that model essay
 Teacher will ask one student to point out these keywords to the class as the teacher
read the model essay

While-writing (30 minutes)


 Teacher will divide the students into pairs.
 Teacher will distribute the writing prompt to each pair.
 Teacher will give each pairs a bubble map and two A4 papers
 Teacher will require the pairs to brainstorm upon the ideas of the topic on the A4
papers and to write their finalized ideas onto the bubble map.
 Teacher will require each pairs to do so within 20 minutes. Each pairs may request
more time if there are some issues erupted.
 Teacher will act as a facilitator by going to all of the students’ places to help them out
with grammars and sentence structuring for instances.
 On the 19th minute time frame, teacher will ask inform the pairs that they have one
minute for the discussion. Teacher will ask each pair to do check their bubble map.
 Teacher will then require each pair to present their bubble map to the other pairs by
going from seats to seats.
 This activity will happen within 10 minutes.
 The pairs will be based on the ones that had been assigned by the teacher beforehand.
 Teacher will require all of the pairs to provide constructive feedback to their peer
pairs for the improvement and idea refinement purposes.

Re-writing (7 minutes)
 Teacher will distribute a column worksheet to all of the pairs to write the edited
version of their article drafts
 Teacher will then collect all of the worksheets from each pair before the dismissal of
the today’s class

Closure (3 minutes)
 Teacher will end the class by asking one student to summarize on what they had
learnt in class for today
 Teacher will end the class with a quote
 Teacher will say goodbye and wish all of the students for a great weekend
