PROJECT E-CLICK: MULTIMEDIA INSTRUCTION

II. RATIONALE:

The digital age calls for the reinvention of education in a manner that brings more
meaning to students’ learning. The kind of education that has relevance to students’ lives
and is responsive not only to their individual needs and expectations but also of the global
population and of the world of work today. Therefore, there is a need for teachers to be
digitally competent in using multimedia for classroom intructions for them to become a 21 st
century teachers.

This paved the concept of project e-CLICK, Kananga National High School’s way of
bringing technology to the classroom. e-CLICK which stands for “Electronic Classroom
Learning Instruction through Constructive-based Knowledge” aims to improve the
achievement level of our students where was recorded at only 41.96% in the recent
National Achievement Test result. The school believes that through project e-click where
students becomes exposed to fun learning activities in class through technology, learners
would turn out to be creative, collaborative, communicative and critical thinkers.

Project e-CLICK also seek to address the high drop-out rate of the school, 1.23% in SY.
2015-2016. Research has it that one of the effective strategies to reduce drop-outs is
specifically providing educational technology (Smink & Schargel, 2006). Therefore, this
project will foster students’ desire for learning so that they won’t drop-out in class and will
have meaningful and enjoyable time in school.
