IS.4. STUDY OF THE WAVES ON A STRING

WORK FORM
JOHAN SEBASTIAN DUARTE DELGADO 2185081
INTRODUCTION
STUDY OF WAVES IN A CHAIN can be interpreted using the linear chain model. This chain is made
up of a series of particles of equal mass separated from also equal springs. This model allows
explaining the behavior of elastic bodies and therefore the propagation of mechanical waves. The
importance of such phenomena has led to more careful studies, which has revealed that the
propagation of non-linear waves is considered fundamental entities in the ripples.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE
To understand how produce a standing wave on a string by the study of its characteristics.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
 Calculate experimentally the speed of propagation of the wave on a string.
 Find the frequencies that generate the fundamental and harmonics in the wave on a
string.

METHOD
First phase
Write about the variables in this experiment.

Three indispensable variables are involved in this experiment, which are time, tension and
frequency, since if any of these are modified, they cause the wave to vary both in its amplitude
and speed, another factor that affects waves is at the time of shock. of the wave, because the
repulsion wave depends directly on the damping

the difference between the real experiment to a simulator is in the real to use the instruments in
the real way we have to know how to use them well to have a better expression we can see more
factors in the experiment changed in the simulator we do not know well how the instruments are
packed although in the simulator we can have more exact data

CONCLUSIONS

It can be inferred that the wave speed has a direct relationship with the parameters of voltage,
frequency and wavelength because as the speed increases, these also increase. The wave velocity
is directly proportional to the wavelength if the frequency is constant. As the voltage increases,
the wavelength will also grow proportionally for waves generated on the same string and with the
same frequency. Finding the fundamental frequency, the other harmonics were found to be their
multiples.
