Task Instructions:

This is an individual submission, in lieu of the minor exam.

Discuss the ways in which COVID-19 has affected the industry focus area, as assigned to you. Using an
organizational example (from the allocated category), discuss the challenges posed by COVID-19 on the
organization and the ways it has / could manage these. Reflect on our class discussions around determinism vs.
strategic choice and the organizational dependency on environmental conditions and technology.

Integrate relevant theories / concepts. Read widely and reference all the sources used at the end of the
submission document (no company confidential information to be included!).

Please note that this is an individual assignment and undue overlap in submissions would be treated strictly.

Suggested Outline of the Submission:

1. Implications of COVID-19 on the area of focus assigned to you (in brief)

2. Overview of the organization chosen for analysis
3. Challenges faced by this organization
4. Attempts to cope with the challenges
5. Reflections on organizational dependency on environmental conditions and technology.

Assessment Parameters:

Quality of content and its analysis 10 marks

Theoretical integration and additional material used for analysis 6 marks
Quality of presentation (written), coherence of argument, referencing 4 marks
