Exercise Display Euro equivalent for costs of goods sold (USD) by divisions. Time 20 min

Task List the steps necessary to display the Euro equivalent for costs of goods sold as well as to
display – using column chart – both values of COGS by division.

1. Report costs of goods sold by adding the cost of goods sold (USD) and
the cost of goods sold (EUR) measures to the Y axis field.
2. Add the Division Description dimension into the Legend Color
3. From Settings, select Show Data Labels in order to display data labels
on the chart.

The result should look like the screenshot below.

Result The Euro equivalents of the total costs of goods sold are 3,584,566.61 Result

Task List the steps necessary to display – using a column chart – the division with the highest net
sales within the year with the highest net sales.

1. Report net-sales (USD) by adding the profit margin (USD) measure to


the Y axis.
2. Add the Year dimension to the X axis field.
3. Add the Division Description dimension to the Legend Color field.
4. On the Net Sales measure in the Y axis field, select Option  Rank
Values…
5. Set the ranking parameters as Top 1 on All, and then click OK.
6. From Settings, select Show Data Labels in order to display data labels
on the chart.

The result should look like the screenshot below.

Exercise In the division with the highest net sales (EUR) in the highest net sales Time 25 min
year, which customer had the lowest net sales?
Task List the steps necessary to display – using a column chart – the customer with the lowest net
sales belonging to the division which achieved the highest net sales in the highest net sales year.

1. Report net-sales by adding profit margin (EUR) measure to the Y axis.


2. Add the Year dimension to the X axis field.
3. Add the Division Description dimension to the Legend Color field.
4. For the Division Description dimension, choose Option  Filter…;
select Bicycles from the list of Values, and then click OK.
5. Add the Customer Name dimension to the Legend Color field.
6. On the profit margin (EUR) measure in the Y axis field, select Option
 Rank Values…
7. Set the ranking parameters as Bottom 1 on Customer Name, and then
click OK.
8. From Settings, select Show Data Labels in order to display data labels
on the chart.

The result should look like the screenshot below.
