Content Comparative analysis

Specific learning outcomes At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able
to:
Compare the three religions in the aspects of
origin, morality, purpose, destiny, and views of
women from the data gathered and different
sources through group research so that the
learners can identify the similarities and
differences within their community.
Time allotment 6 hours( 3 meetings)

# 7 – Comparative Analysis

Activity

The teacher will give the following:

1. Create a matrix on the board consisting of three columns. In each column, Christianity, Islam
and Judaism are categorized just like what is shown below

2. Then, s/he will present pictures showcasing the different symbols and events of the three
religions.
3. The students will categorize and post the pictures under the column of religions where they
belong. They are to give their reflections or insights about the activity.

Analysis

The teacher will give the following guide questions:


1. Aside from your religion, do you have any knowledge about other religions?
2. How are they different from your religion?
3. Have you ever experienced being treated differently because of your faith?
4. Have you ever experienced treating others differently because of their faith?

Abstraction
1. The students will be divided into groups.
2. Each group will be assigned to have a research on a certain religion(E.g., Judaism, Christianity,
and/ or Islam) in the following aspects: Origin, Morality, Purpose, Destiny, and Views of Women
3. Each group will post their data/ visual aide on the board.
4. They will report to the class their data.
- follow – up questions will be asked:
o How did you feel about the activity?
o How are these religions reported different or similar to your religion in terms of
origin, morality, destiny, and views of women?
o How does your belief or religion affect your relationships?
o What can you suggest in order to lessen prejudices as an effect of religion in your
community?
Application
1. Their data/ output will be exhibited through a gallery walk.
2. They are to create a facebook page wherein they will be posting their data of the differences
and similarities of the three religions. Here, they are to invite friends that will or can share their
views relating to or about religion. In this facebook page, members are only allowed to post
views that talks about lessening prejudices caused by religions.
3. Afterwards, they will be given a paper and pencil test.
