Performance Management (PM)

Supporting spectrum sharing group will require a new type of performance data
that represents the union of the sharing group performance. At the same, it’s
possible to use a combination/aggregation of some individual RAT performance
indicators for that sharing group. In that scenario, we don’t have to introduce new
performance indicators and we could reuse existing ones by means of
aggregation. It’s a case by case basis.
Individual RAT has their own performance indicators, most of them can be used
as is but some needs to be modified to cater for the changes introduced by the
sharing group

A new PM producer is introduced in eNB. It will be responsible for creating the

new ESS PM counters and events. It shall have an interface with NR node to
determine the NR performance data. This could be achieved using the arbitrator
data or by creating a new PM interface between NR and LTE.
