Kaziranga National Orchid And Biodiversity Park

If time permits then one can also visit Biodiversity Park which is the largest orchid park of its kind
with an insight to the cultural history of Assam. Experience how the different weaving styles of
Assam are carried out, you’ll also find Collections of old instruments, different old ways of fishing,
and many instruments made of wood. There is also a short cultural programme followed by

Dawki / Umngot River

Seven Sisters Waterfall

Seven Sisters Waterfall is truly a sight to behold. Cherrapunji invites you in the months of November
to February to celebrate a season of pleasant climate when the temperature can drop from 5 to 15
degree C.

Dainthlen

The Dainthlen Waterfalls, one of the most popular tourist places in Cherrapunji, also has one!
Natural rock carvings near the waterfalls narrate the story of a ‘thlen’ or a python which was killed at
the top of the waterfalls.

Kynrem falls,sohra

In the midst of the Khasi hills surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and serene terrains of
Meghalaya lies the Kynrem Falls flowing downstream about 305 meters. The three-levelled waterfall
is situated about 12 kilometres from Cherrapunji inside the Thangkharang Park.

SUGGESTIONS: The best time to see the waterfalls is usually monsoon i.e. from June to September.
You might get to see a bit drier versions of the waterfall but still can try your luck.Monsoons fall in
the months of June to September, if you simply want to induce the nature then the months of
October to February is best or you can even venture the summers in the hills of mist and wonder.

Nohkalikai Waterfalls
One cannot simply miss out on the fun of standing under the tallest waterfall in India – Nohkalikai
Waterfall. Standing 1115 feet tall, this spectacular waterfall is a wonder of nature in itself. You can
witness the tall waterfall standing on the edge of the cliff from where it looks like a thick, white rope
hanging from a lush green cliff. Located at a short distance from Cherrapunji town, this is a must-visit
Meghalaya tourist spot.

Elephant Falls (Shillong)

The outskirts of Shillong is filled with beauty beyond any doubt, the hills and valleys and curvy roads
lead us to the Elephant Falls located 12 kilometres from the main city.

Laitlum Grand Canyon

This place qualifies for one of the most spectacular landscapes in India and one of the best places to
visit in Meghalaya. This place has a 3000-steps-stairway that lets you climb up and down on the edge
while staring at dreamy vistas that surround this place. Sunsets and sunrises add a magical charm to
the beauty of its scenic hill slopes and make it appear surreal.

Shillong View Point

Shillong Peak

At the height of 6449 ft and 1965 m above sea level, this is the highest point of Shillong. It offers a
breath-taking panoramic view of the entire city, the Himalayas, its waterfalls as well as of the
Bangladesh plains.

Mary Help of Christians Cathedral, Shillong

The Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians is a Cathedral in Shillong, Meghalaya. It is the cathedral of
the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Shillong

All Saints Cathedral


Considered to be one of the oldest churches in the city. The building reflects a colonial style
architecture along with wooden roofs whereas the internal structures add to the beauty and
elegance of the Cathedral.

Shillong Iewduh Bara Bazaar & Police bazaar

Regarded as one of the largest traditional-style markets in northeast India. Can look for restaurants

Wards Lake

Wards lake is known for its beautiful surroundings and amazing ambiance. The lake is located right in
the middle of the city, convenient for people to get here from all directions. Boating is also available
for those interested in some recreational activity other than just sitting on the grass and enjoying
the pleasant ambiance.

Lady Hydari Park

Spread over an area of more than a kilometer, Lady Hydari park consists of a mini-zoo, a deer park
and a play area for kids. The park blossoms with a variety of of well-bloomed roses, orchids and

Wah Kaba Falls

When in Meghalaya, you are never away from nature. Wah Kaba Falls, located on Shillong -
Cherrapunji Road at a distance of 7.5 km from Cherrapunji, is another waterfall adding grace to the
list of spectacular waterfalls in Meghalaya.
