 INRODUCTION
This is a training report in respect of Eunice Kalaba. The training was a diploma in
combined Nursing and Registered Midwifery Programme of General nursing
council of Zambia (GNC). It was a three and six months conversion training
conducted at university teaching hospital in conjunction with Lusaka nursing and
midwife covering the period 9 th January 9th 2012 to 26th June 2015. Convention
was specifically for the Zambia enrolled nurses in-service and also of direct entry
of students who covered the same period of three years six months.
 VENUE AND PROVIDER
Lusaka school of nursing and midwifery, at University Teaching Hospital.

The cost and financial was a GRZ sponsored programme by pre/in-service
intake.

5.0 OBJECTIVES

 To enhance skills and knowledge in general nursing and midwifery


 To acquire managerial skills and knowledge and be awarded with a
certificate for completion of management workshop.

Foundations

 Anatomy and physiology, Nutrition, sociology, Fundamentals of nursing ,


professional practice, First aid, Micro-biology, Public health nursing,
psychology.

First Lecture Block

General Medicine, General surgery and pharmacology.

Second Lecture block

Obstetrics and Gynaecology,Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose, Throat,


Research, Management.

Third Lecture Block

Paediatrics, psychiatry, Theatre, Palliative Care, IMCI and Obstetrics and


Gynaecology, Case Study and Write up.
