CONTEMPORARY WORLD

I. COURSE DESCRIPTION: The contemporary world is designed to provide students with


an understanding of World events. Students are exposed to a
multitude of global issues to assist in their exploration and
comprehension of the contemporary world. The focus of
these issues are the multi-dimensional approach that
integrates political, economic, historical, geographical, and
sociological perspectives.

II. COURSE CREDITS: 3 Units

IV. COURSE OBJECTIVES:


1. understood that studying the outside world is a cure to parochialism or a
limited outlook to one’s immediate community;
2. appreciate the importance of studying the world as a way of understanding
one’s own being;
3. appreciate the different theories about globalization and globalism and how it
affects the life of present generation.
