21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World
1st Trimester, A.Y. 2020-2021

21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World is a core subject in the Senior High
School program. It focuses on the analyses, critique, and interpretation of various texts from Philippine
and World literatures in the 21st century through the skills of close and creative reading. It aims to help
students understand and appreciate the cultural and aesthetic diversity of today’s literature as well as to
highlight 21st century themes such as identity, history, technology, and intertextuality. At the end of the
term, the students will write an original or adapted work and perform it in accordance with the project
guidelines.
