When you hear the place Las Vegas, you immediately think of Sin City – the gambling, the

casinos, the
bright lights that never seem to turn off. However, if you go outside the Strip and venture into the rest
of Las Vegas, Nevada, you should definitely visit the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

As the name suggests, the Area consists of a collection of Red Rocks – mostly as big as the buildings you
see in Las Vegas. It is unlikely to find such red rocks normally when you go outside the city. This is what
makes the area unique.

There are many activities that you can do if you find yourself visiting the area. It stretches for about 13
miles long. One of the popular destinations in the area is the loop road. The loop road is perfect for
bicycle touring where you just hop on your bike and be amazed at the scenery that the area provides. It
has a moderate climb from the start, but majority of it is flat or downhill which are both relatively easy.

At the end of the Area, you will find a state park, and a replica of a ghost town which is perfect for your
Instagram feed.

The National Conservation Area also hosts a variety of events and activities aside from your scheduled
hikes and trails. For instance, you can climb on several rocks. The view from the top would be amazing.
Sometimes, they also host interactions with wildlife animals. There are different scheduled events at
different days in the calendar. You might as well check their website for more information regarding
these events and programs.

As the Southern Nevada Conservacy, the organization taking care and promoting the area, would say,
there are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. It is just a matter of choosing an activity to your liking
because you can never run out of things to do in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
