PROJECT TITLE: AS BUILT PLAN STANDARD THREE-STOREY NINE (9)

CLASSROOM SCHOOL BUILDING DON VICENTE RAMA MEMORIAL ELEMENTARY

SCHOOL, CEBU CITY

PLATE NO. 2

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES

1. MOBILIZATION is the transfer of the contractor’s physical and manpower

resources to the construction site until the completion of the project.

2. CLEARING AND GRUBBING refers to the removal of trees, shrubs,

stumps, and rubbish from the future location of the structure.

3. BUILDING OF TEMPORARY FACILITIES is the construction of temporary

structures, which will be used during erection of the building. This includes

bunkhouses, fences and temporary work areas for storing machines and

materials.

4. INSTALLATION OF BATTER BOARD ON PROPERTY LINE AND LAY-

OUT OF FLOOR PLAN is the installment of batter boards, temporary

wooden frames, on the property line to indicate the desired levels and also

as fastening for stretched strings when laying-out the column and

foundation. This also includes the laying-out of the floor plan by fastening

strings on the batter board based on the distance indicated on the plan. The

batter boards will provide a stable surface for the attachment of the lay-out

lines. An important part of the installation of the batter board is making sure

that they are level with one another.

5. SOIL POISONING is the laying of polyethylene sheets as vapor barrier for

the steel reinforcement of the slab, column, footing, wall footing, and tie

beams.

6. COLUMN AND FOOTING LAY-OUT is the fastening of strings on the

batter board based on the distances indicated by the plan. The locations

where the strings intersect are locations of the columns and footings.

7. FABRICATION OF STEEL REINFORCEMENT OF COLUMNS AND

FOOTINGS is the preparation of the reinforcing bars (rebars) to be placed

on the footings and columns. This includes the cutting of rebars based on

the size and length specified in the structural plans.

8. EXCAVATION OF FOOTING is the removing of soil on the location of the

footing following the dimensions indicated in the plans.

9. INSTALLATION OF REINFORCEMENT FOR FOOTINGS is the placement

of the prepared steel bars on the excavated area. A spacer block is first

placed on the ground to make sure that there is at least 75mm clear cover

before the steel bars are placed. Steel bars are installed following the

diameter, location and spacing indicated in the plans.

10. INSTALLATION OF REINFORCEMENT FOR COLUMNS is the placement

of the reinforcement bars for the columns right above the reinforcement bars

of the footing. Column ties are also placed. Spacing of column ties are

smaller when it is closer to the footing.

11. INSTALLATION OF SCAFFOLDINGS is the erection of scaffoldings around

the location of the columns to hold the reinforcement bars from collapsing.

12. CONCRETE POURING OF FOOTINGS is the pouring of a mixture of sand,

cement and gravel on the prepared excavated hole for the footing.

13. CONCRETE POURING OF COLUMN is the pouring a mixture of sand,

cement and gravel on the prepared form for the columns.

14. BACKFILLING AROUND FOUNDATION is the process of returning the

excavated soil until it reaches the grade level.

15. COMPACTION is the process of making sure that there are none or few

voids on the soil, which was backfilled around the foundation. Compacting it

by layer would result to a more dense soil and is a good support to the slab-

on-grade. A compactor is used in this process.

16. STEELWORK FOR WALL FOOTINGS, BEAMS, SLABS, GIRDERS,

STAIRS AND SEPTIC VAULT is the fabrication and installation of steel

reinforcement for the different structural members. This includes the cutting

of the rebars based on the specified length and then installed on the

structure depending on the design of the plan.

17. CONCRETE POURING ON WALL FOOTING AND SLAB-ON-GRADE is

the monolithic pouring of concrete on the wall footing and slab-on grade.

18. POURING SECOND FILL OF COLUMNS is the pouring of concrete, a

mixture of sand, cement and gravel, on the form of the column until it

reaches a height of 0.40 to 0.60 meters below the supposed end of the T-

beam.

19. STRIPPING OF FORMWORK is the removal of formworks based on the

days specified on the general notes.

20. INSTALLATION OF FORMWORKS FOR SECOND FLOOR SLAB AND

BEAMS is the installation of scaffolds, shoring and phenolic boards.

21. INSTALLATION OF PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL ROUGH-INS is the

preparation of where the plumbing and electrical wirings and pipes will pass

through in the slabs and beams before the concrete pouring to prevent

making holes after it has dried up.

22. CONCRETE POURING OF SLAB, BEAMS AND GIRDER is the monolithic

pouring of concrete, a mixture of sand, cement and gravel, on the forms of

the slabs, beams and girders.

23. FABRICATION OF STEEL TRUSSES is the welding of angle bars to form

the trusses specified on the specifications.

24. INSTALLATION OF STEEL TRUSSES is the placement of the fabricated

steel trusses on their location.

25. ROOFING is the installation of galvanized iron sheets as roofing. This also

includes the installation of gutter.

26. CEILING is the installation of gypsum boards for the ceiling.

27. INSTALLATION OF HALLWAY RAILING is the fabrication and installation

of railings for the hallway of the second floor building.

28. CHB WALLING is the process of setting concrete hollow blocks as divisions

of different rooms.

29. DOORS AND WINDOWS is the installation of doors and windows all

window openings and door jams.

30. ELECTRICAL WORKS involves the installation of the lighting, ventilation

and power source of the building

31. PLUMBING WORKS involves the installation of the water closets,

lavatories, floor drains, and sinks.

32. PLASTERING OF WALLS AND COLUMNS is the smoothening or finishing

of walls and columns.

33. PAINTING involves the putting of the anti-rust paint for the railings, and

also for the aesthetic work for the building itself.

34. TILE WORKS is the placement of tiles.

35. GENERAL CLEANING is the cleaning of the whole site which includes

setting aside all materials used in the construction for the removal during

mobilization. Furnishing is the placing of furniture on the desired location of

the finished building.

36. DEMOBILIZATION is the removal of the contractor’s material and

manpower resources from the construction site.
