ENGINEERING DESIGN, SUPPLY, INSTALLATION, TESTING AND

COMMISSIONING OF NEW 250MVA, 400/220/132/33kV SUBSTATION AT
CHALINZE IN PWANI REGION, TANZANIA

INVITATION FOR TENDERS

Date: 12th May, 2020

1. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has set aside funds for the
operation of the Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) during
the financial year 2019/20. It is intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will
be used to cover eligible payment under the contract for the Design, Supply,
Installation, Testing and Commissioning of New 250MVA, 400/220/132/33kV
Substation at Chalinze for Power Evacuation from Julius Nyerere Hydropower
Project.

2. TANESCO now invites Tenders from eligible tenders for the Engineering Design,
Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of New 250MVA,
400/220/132/33kV Substation at Chalinze for Power Evacuation from Julius
Nyerere Hydropower Project.

3. Tendering will be conducted through International Competitive Tendering

procedures specified in the Public Procurement Regulations, 2013 – Government
Notice No. 446 as amended in 2016.

4. Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information about Tendering

Documents online through Tanzania National electronic Procurement System
(TANePS) (www.taneps.go.tz)

5. All Tenders must be accompanied by original Tender Security of TZS.

3,500,000,000.00 (Tanzanian Shillings Three Billion Five Hundred million) or
USD 1,500,000 (United States Dollars One Million Five Hundred Thousand) in
the form of bank guarantee or banker’s cheque from reputable local commercial
 bank or from forein/International Bank which must be counter guaranteed by
reputable local commercial Bank and shall be valid up to twenty-eight (28) days
from expiration of tender validity period. The original Tender Security must be
submitted physically to Secretary of the Tender Board, Tanzania Electric Supply
Company Limited, P.O. Box 9024 Dar Es Salaam, on or before submission deadline
from 08:00 to 15:30 hours’ East African time on Mondays to Fridays except on Public
holidays.

6. All Tenders must be electronically submitted online through TANePS in the proper
format, on or before 8th June, 2020 14:30 Pm. Tenders will be opened promptly
thereafter online through TANePS.

7. Portion of Tenders and tender not received through TANEPS shall not be accepted for
evaluation.
