Business Scenario

Walmart is one of the top ten largest retail company in the United States famous worldwide .Sales for the
company are around $500 billion annually, which almost doubles that of its closest retail competitor Amazon.
The company operates globally with many warehouse and retails stores all over world. There are thousands of
suppliers who each day supplying different materials to Walmart. Its e-commerce business is also contains
longlist customers and online seller partnerships. Though ERP is a regular practice still it faces lot of issues
from customer order to warehouse supply of materials. The sheer size of Walmart’s business is one of its
greatest advantages, but also challenges when it comes to ERP.

Walmart wishes to go for SAP S/4 HANA implementation under cloud environment:

 Plans for building out a cloud-based enterprise system that serves as the framework for managing all
of its resources
 The capability to plug-in existing ERP applications to the SAP S/4 HANA.
 Broader opportunities for sales and procurement capabilities

Based on above scenario analyze the SAP S/4 HANA implementation as below.

Q1. How the sales order process will integrate with procurement process to match the demand of customer
and aligning with vendors for supply of materials. [10]

Q2. In conjunction with Building tomorrow ERP through SAP S/4 HANA how do you thing the architecture will
be proper for cloud based ERP for Walmart? [10 marks]
