Assignment:
A. Written Reports
1. Discuss about Total Quality Management, its definition, historical development and
methods.
2. Discuss what is Six Sigma, its definition, methodologies and applications in construction.
3. Prepare a Method of Statement for any major activity in construction such as Cast in Place
Reinforced Concrete Works, Steel Structural Works, Piling Works, Pre-Cast Reinforced
Concrete Works, Waterproofing Works, Roofing Works, etc. Included in the Method of
Statement are the Inspection Test Plan, Quality Checklist and Risk Assessment/Job Hazard
Analysis.
4. Assume that you have your own construction company (License A Category) and you
wanted to get an ISO 9001 Certification, prepare a Quality Management Plan. This Plan
should cover all aspect required in ISO 9001.
