INTRODUCTION
Welcome to online class of Computer Systems Servicing NCII with the unit of competency
entitled: “Install and Configure Computer Systems”. This course covers the outcomes required in
installing and configuring desktop and workstation computers systems. It consists of competencies to
assemble computer hardware, install operating system and drivers for peripherals/devices, and install
application software as well as to conduct testing and documentation.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of this module, you should be able to:
Learning Outcome 1:
1. Plan and prepare Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
2. Obtain materials necessary to complete the work.
3. Obtain tools, equipment, and testing devices needed to carry out the installation work.
4. Assemble computer hardware in accordance with the established procedures and system
requirements.
5. Configure Basic-Input-Output-System (BIOS).
Learning Outcome 2:
1. Create portable bootable devices.
2. Customize installers in accordance with software utilization guide and end user agreement.
3. Install portable applications.

1. Install Operating System (OS) in accordance with the established installation procedures.
2. Install peripherals/devices drivers in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and OS
procedures.
3. Update OS/drivers in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and requirements.
