I am the Head Prefect of SMK Temerloh Jaya. For your information, I would like to make a
report on the types of indiscipline cases and the causes among students. As we all know, the
indiscipline cases in our school are on the rise. Therefore, I have carried out a survey among the
students. Based on my findings, I found some important information that you and other teachers
should know. It is vital so that the school authority can deal with it and overcome this problems as
soon as possible.

There are several types of indiscipline cases in our school. First and foremost, there are
many bullying cases especially among lower form students. Lower form students are repeated
bullied by the seniors who feel that they are the king of this school. As a result, bully victims became
traumatic and refuse to go to school because they afraid that they might be bullied again. Next,
there are a great number of stealing cases. Some students leave their money in the bag during
recess while some students keep on losing their stationary and calculator. In addition to that,
students from weaker classes love to play truant. They love to spend their time by playing games at
the cyber cafe. As a consequences, they have miss many important lessons. Furthermore, a few
stubborn students tend to bring mobile phones to school. It might happen because they want to
show their new and trendy smartphone or just to play social media in classes. By doing so, they
cannot stay focused in class especially when the teachers are teaching.

I would love to list down the causes o the indiscipline cases here. Firstly, the rules and
regulations are poorly reinforced. Indiscipline students tend to take advantage of the rules and
regulations. They refuse to obey the teacher’s order and the rules. Besides, it might happen because
of the peer influence from their friends. For example, smoking, drug abuse, bully and so on. They
always want to show others that they are brave and cool. Apart from this, there are students who
are not interested in studies. They always do not finish their homework given by the teachers. This
kind of students are most likely to play truant and skip classes from ‘boring’ teachers. Among the
indiscipline students, some of them admit that they become stressful because of family problems.
They share to me that their parents do not understand their problems and needs. As a result, they
cannot perform well in their studies and examinations.

Here are some useful and effective suggestions to overcome the problems. All the students
in SMK Temerloh Jaya should be closely monitored by the teachers especially the high risk students.
Moreover, counselling sessions and motivational talks should be conducted for the indiscipline
students. They should have monitored by the counsellor of this school. Also, motivational talks are
important to expose the effects of indiscipline cases for their future. On top of that, school authority
are advised to impose heavier punishment. This is important to give lessons and create awareness
among students. For instance, students who repeat the same mistake should be expelled from
school while for those who love to bring their mobile phones to school, teachers should confiscate
their mobile phones. Last but not least, parents should form a Parents and Teachers Association
Whatsapp group in order to discuss about this matter. They can always communicate and discuss
together on how to overcome this problems.
Well, I believe that is enough for now. I sincerely hope that school authority will take
immediate action so that we can overcome this problems. Teachers should work hand in hand and
stay alert on the latest issues. Someone once said that prevention is better than cure and it is better
late than never. To conclude it all, I hope that the number of the indiscipline cases can be lowered.
