ACTION PLAN 1 TEACHING AND LEARNING: TEACHING FOR DEEPER LEARNING SEPTEMBER 2015-JUNE 2016

Baseline (where are we now?)


 Principal has observed all teaching staff during 2014-15 school year and has judged that the quality of teaching and learning is good or better in all lessons,
with 70% of all lessons being very good or better and around 30% being outstanding.
 New strategies for differentiated practice have been embedded, as evidenced by schemes of work and wide variety of new resources prepared by teaching
staff in PA9
 Good practice has been shared regularly at departmental meetings, Learning Area meetings and whole staff training sessions
 A teaching and learning group has been established to research and share good practice
 In consultation with SLT and the Teaching and Learning Group, departments will be given a degree of autonomy to identify their own specific areas for further
development
 The overall focus for the year will be on teaching for deeper learning ie helping our pupils to become more independent and resilient as learners
