WALK-IN VAN
Pre-Trip Checklist
• Start engine and check all gauges and warning
lights including oil pressure and fuel gauge.
• Listen for any unusual engine noises.
• Check the horn, wipers, defroster/heater
and windows for proper operation.
• Check the parking brake for proper tension.
• Turn engine off and secure vehicle.
• Turn key to the accessory setting. Actuate
right and left turn signal. Observe the flashing
lights in the front and rear of the vehicle
(reflection in rearview mirror). Turn on
four-way flashers and headlights.
• Exit passenger side door; check door function,
check door locks, check windows for damage.
• Walk along the right side of the vehicle
checking for scratches and dents.
• Check the fuel cap for tightness.
• Check right rear wheels for tire pressure,
valve caps, wheel nuts and tire wear.
• Check side reflectors, marker lights and
rear lights (backup, reflector, tail, four-way
flashers and license plate).
• Check function of rear doors and locks.
• Look under vehicle: check for leaks
(oil, hydraulic, fuel, etc.) or damage.
• Check left rear wheels for tire pressure,
valve caps, wheel nuts and tire wear.
Operator’s Signature
• Walk along the left side of the vehicle
checking for scratches and dents.
• Approach the driver’s door. Check the
movement of the door by opening and
closing it. Check the security of the vehicle
by unlocking and locking the door latch.
Check the window for cracks and scratches.
• Check the mirror for cracks, scratches
and cleanliness.
• Move to front left wheel. Check for wheel
movement, proper tire pressure, valve cap,
wheel nuts and tire wear.
• Check the front of the vehicle and check
lights (clearance, headlights, parking and
four-way flashers).
• Check under vehicle for leaks (oil, hydraulic,
fuel, water) and damage.
• Check for windshield cracks and scratches.
Check wiper blades.
• Check the front right wheel for movement,
proper tire pressure, valve cap, wheel nuts
and tire wear.
• Enter passenger door; check door function
and check door locks.
• Return to driver’s seat. If equipped, check
DOT safety requirements.
• Check dome light operation.
• Check for vehicle registration, permits
and vehicle insurance.
