Vehicle Condition

The condition of your vehicle


affects your ability to control it.

It also affects your ability to see


other drivers and pedestrians.

A vehicle should be properly
equipped and must always be in
good condition for safe driving.

Like the driver, the vehicle


should be in excellent condition.
When your vehicle has a
mechanical defect, take it to a
mechanic immediately.

UNDER THE HOOD

• Engine tune-up.
As part of the engine tune-up;
spark plugs, and air cleaner must
be cleaned periodically and if
necessary replaced if it is worn
out/damage.

• Battery.
It must be kept in good
condition. Add distilled water if the
level is low.

• Safety devices.
Check devices such as fuses and
circuit breakers.

• Radiator.
Check radiator fluid level before
starting the engine.

• Be sure to check the type of


gasoline/oil suited to your
vehicle.

brake fluid and master cylinder.

• Check Steering Mechanism

• Check Brake System

• Check mufflers to prevent


excessive noise and smoke.

OUTSIDE PARTS

• Have clean side mirrors to see at


least 200 ft. behind.

• Windows must be clean and


free of obstruction.

• Check vehicle lights if they are


all working such as tail lights,
turn signals, stop lights, license
plate lights and parking lights.

• Check wipers if they operate


properly to clear the windshield.

• Check tires
- Low tire pressure may cause
the wear and tear.
- Always equip vehicle with
spare tires.
- Tires with worn out thread will
slide more easily on wet
pavements and may blow-out
without warning.

• Check the gauge on the dash


board if something is going
wrong.
Temperature, Ammeter, Oil
Gauges

• Check safety belts.

• Check steering wheel; clutch,


brake, accelerator pedals and
shift gears; horn if it can be
heard from a distance.

• Check the rear view mirror.
