Purple – 80368-83
OR 1 ½ yards • Cut 11 – 2 ½” x WOF strips
Fuchsia – 80368-28 • Cut 4 – 3 ½” x WOF strips
OR
Denim Blue – 80368-49 • Cut 4 – 2 ¼” x WOF strips (set aside for binding)
Suggested Backing: 1 ½ yards • No cutting required.
Purple – Ketan 81000-1016
OR
Fuchsia – Ketan 81000-1004
OR
Denim Blue – Ketan 81000-1018

Piecing Instructions:

1. Arrange strips following the diagram below (or to your liking), moving each strip up or down by 1-3” increments
to achieve the ‘bargello’ effect. Using a design wall for this step would be helpful.

2. With right sides together, pin first two strips together at the desired height increment and sew together.
Continue adding strips in the same manner. It is recommended that you sew every other row starting at the
opposite end to avoid skewing of the strips in one direction.

3. Once all strips have been sewn together, trim the top & bottom of the quilt top at the shortest strip.
NOTE: The finished length of your quilt will depend on the curves in your bargello effect. The deeper you make
your curves, the shorter your quilt length will be.

4. Layer quilt top with batting and backing. Quilt as desired.

5. Prepare binding strips and bind using your favorite method.
