Parameter test Report of OPIC BCOIII 3D Project,Chad, BGP 8620A
1 Introduction
Before startup normal production, According to the contract from OPIC, BGP
International CHAD was required to provide OPIC with the recommended test and
schedule for the startup test. Before the experiment, all gathering equipment strictly has
carried on the examination according to the specification, has guaranteed the experiment
authenticity and the accuracy. On Jan 5th 2012, a test for Noise model , drive level, sweep
type and Vibrator sweep parameters has been conducted. During the test, 28 VPs were
recorded in swath 1.
2 Test objectives
The determination best parameter, enhances the main purpose level reflected wave energy.

5.6Taper Test
From monitor qualitative analysis, and using the KLseis software selection purpose level to analysis energy, frequency, S/N. It’s difficult to
discover the obvious difference. As usual, we suggest use taper 350ms.

5.7 Move up
The fixed-point combination and the moving-up combination did not look that the obvious difference, the use combination suppression noises
effect is not obvious.

Through the above analysis that original data signal-to-noise ratio compares, after overall
consideration, the vibrator parameter is as follows:
Vibrator number : 5
Number of Sweeps : 2
Sweep Length : 8S
Sweep Frequency : 8 - 72Hz
Drive Level : 70%
Vibration mode : Move up 7.5m between sweeps
Sweep Type : Linear
• random sweeps of 2 vibratos, 45% drive level with 30 to 50m radius, offset
distance to buildings or water well
• random sweeps of 1 Vibrator, 45% drive level with 20 to 30m radius to buildings
or water well, and in the middle of the village.
• 3 Vibrators with 50% force will be used for distances from 50 to 100m.
When 5 Vibrators are employed, the safe offset distance to buildings and water wells must
be maintained at 100m with 70% force.
