I am working in R&D Department as a Senior Manager. In the past

few months our product sales is degrading due to the lack of customer
satisfaction while using the product or service. So, we decided to find a
solution by preparing questionnaires regarding our product/service.

So far I got 60 responses. The mean score on the five point scale X bar
equalled 3.11. The sample standard deviation was S = 0.5. We want to
test this hypothesis at 5% level of significance.

So far I got 60 responses. The mean score on the five point scale X bar
equalled 3.11. The sample standard deviation was S = 0.5. We want to
test this hypothesis at 5% level of significance.

Now, the researcher entertains the hypothesis that the customer is

satisfied neither fully satisfied nor fully dissatisfied. Therefore, the
null hypothesis that the mean is equal to 3.0:

H0 : µ = 3.0
The alternative hypothesis that the mean does not equal to 5.0: -

Result: - In this case, the Z-value is1.71, greater than the table value
1.96. Thus, we reject H0.
