You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al

New York is a big city in the


United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is
New York (USA) – The Statue of Liberty
located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.
St. Peter's Square is one of the
most beautiful and largest
squares in the world. It is located
in the Vatican, at the foot of St.
Peter's Basilica. The dimensions
of the square are spectacular:
320 meters long and 240 meters
wide. The construction of the
square was carried out between
1656 and 1667 by Bernini, with
the support of Pope Alexander
VII.

The Sydney Opera House is a


multi-venue performing arts
center in the Sydney Harbor in
Sydney, New South Wales,
Australia. It is one of the most
famous and distinctive buildings
of the 20th century. Designed by
Danish architect Jørn Utzon, the
building was formally
inaugurated on October 20,

Edinburgh Castle is the majestic
landmark that dominates the
capital's skyline as well as in the

Erected over an extinct volcano
offers a great panorama over the
city and hosts as many events
as the Edinburgh International
Festival and the Military Tattoo.
This fortress represents a very
strong national symbol and is

Heritage Site. The castle is the
fruit of a rich mix of architectural
styles that reflect its complex
history and its role as a fortress
and seat of sovereigns.

The construction of the Burj


Khalifa began on September 21,
2004 and ended on January 4,
2010, more than a year later
than planned. The skyscraper
stands out for having a large
number of residential floors,
something unusual so far.
The tower has 57 elevators,
weighs 500,000 tons and is
covered by 28,601 glass panels.
