PROCEDURE

Introduction (5 minutes)
A. PACUO
B. Review of the past lesson will be conducted (i.e. Writing the Scope, Delimitation, and
Significance of the Study).

Motivation (20 minutes)

A. Activity: “Whose Hugot You Got?”
1. The students will be asked to write down their original “hugot line” in a small
piece of paper.
2. The teacher must instruct the kids that “hugots” must come from a recent
experience on romantic, friendly or family relationships.
3. It will be placed in a jar or basket.
4. The class will be divided into two groups. After which, the teacher will serve as
the Quiz master.
5. He/She will be picking from the jar and the representative from each group will
identity whose “hugot” is being read.
6. The group who will have the higher number of points wins the game.
B. Teacher will then process the experience of the students through the following questions:
1. What have you felt upon doing the activity?
2. What do you feel whenever they laugh and affirm your hugot?
3. Does the hugot attributed to you make you a little proud about yourself?
4. How does it feel when the hugot line you made was attributed to another?

Instruction / Delivery (70 minutes)

A. Interactive discussion on the subject matter is to be done. (Refer to Appendix A for the
notes.)
1. From their hugot line, the teacher will emphasize the need for proper citation of the
authors and sources of a particular work. Thus the teacher will facilitate the class in
a comprehensive discussion of the related literature and proper citation.
2. Guide questions for discussion:
o What do you mean by Review of Related Literature?

the students to bring with them a checked position, opinion or book review submitted to
their other subject teachers.

1. Underline the lines/phrases/sentences in the paper that are not originally from
them.
2. Recall from what type of source was he/she able to review the information
presented.
3. The teacher will then ask them to browse the net or go back to the printed material
where they got it.
4. Come up with a list of sources used in the paper using the APA format. Students
will follow the format below:

Line/s from the Source Why is/are the line/s

Source (Author/Year/Title)
(with Page Number) important to my paper?
1.
2.

C. The students may check on some books and studies on as how they cite sources and
contrast from one another. This will give the students an enough sources and models.
