Do's

Cyber-security Do's
-Use reputable communication apps/services such as
-Microsoft (Team)
-Apple (Facetime)
-Google (Hangouts)
-Slacks
-Respect privacy of your staff and colleagues by asking their permission before sending them an
invite on any teleworking app using their personal email
-Be respectful that not everyone has access to the internet, or would like to subscribe/register for
different services, find a fair compromise or platform so everyone has access to information
-Be aware of sensitive information being uploaded, should you find sensitive information being
shared, please contact your CoC, Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Sgt George
(edward.george@forces.gc.ca), or Unit Security Supervisor (USS) Capt Lanteigne
(jarrett.lanteigne@forces.gc.ca) with the particulars.
-Actively update your phone and computer security patches as prompted
-Have an update-to-date anti-malware, anti-virus software
-Look for typos in suspicious emails, and delete them
-Make sure the link you are about to click on is spelled correctly
-Change your password frequently for your email and social media accounts
-Use an unique password.

Cyber-security Don't
-Don't share any sensitive or protected information (Protected A, B, C or classified)
-Don't use ZOOM on DWAN computer
-Don't open suspicious email attachments
-Don't click on suspicious web links
-Don't open emails from people you don't recognize

What is considered Classified Information


-Information on named operations and exercise unless specifically marked Unclassied
-Defence and Security Information, such as any details with specifics of military equipment,
tactics, SOPs, ROEs, etc.
-Third-party business information provided in confidence
-Personal information without consent date of birth, race, national or ethnic origin, colour,
religion, age, marital status, academics/test scores, medical or financial information, etc.
-Any identifying number (including Personal Record Identifier [PRI] or Service Number [SN]),
symbol, or other assigned particular, address, fingerprints, or blood type
-This is not an exhaustive list, basically anything that your spidey-senses goes off, please engage
your CoC before sharing it on the internet.
