Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing

the number of sports facilities. Others, howerver , say that this would
have little effect on public health and that other measures are required.
Discuss both view and give your own opinion.

Opinions diverge greatly on how to increase the level of public health. When many hold
that increasing the range of sports facilities is the most optimal method to achieve this
goal, others aver that the public may reap few benefits from an increasing number of
sports amenities, hence the authorities should take other measures. While there is some
truth to the former, I tend to gravitate towards the latter.
On the one hand, it is understandable that a wider range of sports facilities would render
people’s overall well-being better. The role rationale is that as a large number of people
have a poor financial background, they cannot afford to go to the gyms or swimming
pools. Therefore, free-of-charge gymnasia or swimming pools may allow a larger number
of people to get access to them, which in turn enhances their health.
On the other hand, I would opine that widening the range of sports facilities would be not
enough and that the government should launch some campaigns encouraging people to do
physical exercises. As a plurality of people seem to be leading a sedentary lifestyle due to
the inexorable march in the progress of highly advanced technology which provides
people with the ability to make virtual conversations with their friends or buying good
from the Internet in the comfort of their own home, they would shy away from doing
work-out even if there is a larger range of sports facilities. Hence, the state ought to
initiate several web-based campaigns that inform people of potential risks of an inactive
way of life as well as huge benefits of physical activities and motivate them to go out and
take part in sporting activity. Because people use the Internet daily, the process of giving
them access to such campaigns would be less challenging.
In conclusion, I would reaffirm that increasing the number of sports amenities may be
insufficient to improve public health and that making people aware of the advantages of
being active and motivating them to exercise through Internet-based campaigns would be
more effective.
