INTRODUCTION
Scientific research is an important part in knowing the unknown. Without it, it would be really
difficult to live relying solely on intuition or blind luck (Study.com, 2020). People try to decode
the ancient history lying around by researching about the incident. The necessity of research can
be understood only then. Without the proper advancement in technology, people would still lag
behind. These newer technologies can be brought in the daylight with hours of rigorous study
and research. Through systematic scientific research, Human life develops reducing all the
superstitions and gaining an objective understanding of the world.

WHAT IS RESEARCH?
Research is a process of finding related questions that can address a particular problem clearly.
In accordance with suitable methodologies set by specific professional fields and academic
disciplines, people can interpret a particular set of questions and find the appropriate answer to
solve the problem (Howie and Bagnall, 2016). Research evaluates the validity of a hypothesis
drawn for a problem to assemble substantive knowledges and findings with which researchers
draw appoint that can lead to desired point. In a nutshell, Research is a significant part of our
social as well as technological development which provokes curiosity in human to brainstorm
and find the better future.

NATURE OF RESEARCH
 Systematic
Usually research requires a specific structural process to attain the goal or think in the
right way. Systematic approach eases the activities in research.

 Scientific
Different scientific researches need to be approached with a scientific method. If a
research is handled with the advanced technology, precise data can be found with the
machine analysis (Explorable.com, 2020).

 Objectivity
Research is free from biasness, prejudice and subjectivity. It shows the gist of the whole
action to imply it correctly and efficiently.
 Definiteness
Data that are collected while doing research must be object specific and collected from
reliable source.
 Verifiability
Research lays emphasis on the proper verification of the collected information, data or
facts. Here, nothing is accepted and derived unless verified through adequate observation,
tests and experimentation (Howie and Bagnall, 2016).

 Generality
Inductive reasoning and process is sued in making generalization and of the particular
happenings or events. Research is quite universal having generalized application in
similar situations.

 Predictability
Probable happenings that can take place to a person, object or phenomenon can be
reasonably predicted through the properly derived conclusions or results of a scientific
procedure.

 Modifiability
Researches is done so that these can be open to verification, observation and
experimentation. These are never final, absolute and static.

 Dynamicity
As what is true today in terms of the derived fact or reached generalization may be
proved wrong tomorrow based on new findings, researches are very dynamic in nature.
They can be adapted in almost every passage of time.
PRINCIPLES OF CONDUCTING GOOD RESEARCH
Research options can be validated through some principles that supports the whole process of a
good research. These principles can be expressed through some questions:

 Is there a clear research question and purpose?

Research benefits and possible harms must be measured to ensure the approach to the
situation. Research question clarification is one of the main necessities while conducting
the research.

 Is the study built on what is known already?

If there is any previous research or knowledge is there, a commensurate review of the
literature explaining how the project is performing and how the study results will be
added to existing knowledge (Demonstrating the importance of basic research, 2012).

 Is the study meaningful?

The research must add values to current knowledge, develop new treatments and evaluate
established ones.

 Will the method provide valid data and answers to the research question?
Common sense and logic must support behind performing the whole research. Valid and
rational data should be found and analyzed.

 Is the research team equipped to complete the study?

A researcher must have adequate knowledge, skills, and attitudes, accountability,
supervision and do monitoring to perform the research effectively (Study.com, 2020).

 Is there fair balance of benefits and harms for all with an interest in the study?
Good research provides a fair balance and they ensure that any prior uncertainty is
estimated and explained.

 Are participants offered an informed consent?

Participants must perform after they are well-informed and agreed to participate.

 Is there fair payment for participation and recompense for injury?

The people who have participated in the survey needs to be paid according to the duration
of presence, lifestyle restrictions, the number and length of visits, and the type and extent
of the inconvenience and discomfort involved.

 Once the study is finished do participants receive acknowledgement and, when relevant,
appropriate care?
Once the survey or experiment is done, the informants or participants must be treated as
humbly as possible. Appropriate care must be provided while performing research as it
boosts the confidence in a participant to act more helpfully.

 Will the project be registered and results placed in the public domain?
After completing the project, it must be registered under a name or entity to prevent it
from mixing up in the various research categories. It should be placed in the public
domain to keep others informed of the recent innovations or findings.

CONCLUSION
Researchers want to learn and develop the basic necessities in human society. It can be about
what people needs, how they feel, how they behave, or what problem they are facing. Research
follows development through the hands of the scientists and alters society. There is constant and
competing advancement in the world of knowledge and research. It reshapes, heals and provides
the better lifestyle for the people from the previous era. Research is an important part of the
civilization, without which people’s lives would move far slower.
